WORKED TO EMPOWER PARENTS THROUGHOUT NEW YORK THROUGH A COMPREHENSIVE MEMBERSHIP RECRUITMENT CAMPAIGN WITH THE GENERAL PUBLIC THAT PROVIDED AWARENESS AND INFORMATION REGARDING ITS MISSION AND EDUCATION REFORM POLICIES. IT ALSO HOSTED PRIVATE MEETINGS AND PUBLIC EVENTS AIMED AT GIVING VOICE TO PARENTS IN THE EDUCATION DEBATE.
STUDENTSFIRST NEW YORK, INC. ENGAGED IN PUBLIC POLICY DEVELOPMENT AND RESEARCH THAT EDUCATED THE PUBLIC ON REAL AND MEANINGFUL REFORMS ACROSS NEW YORK. STUDENTSFIRST NEW YORK, INC. PROVIDED INFORMATION ABOUT EDUCATION REFORM TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC THROUGH MATERIALS AND PUBLICATIONS AND NEW AND TRADITIONAL MEDIA OUTLETS. THE PURPOSE OF THESE COMMUNICATIONS WAS TO ENSURE THE INTERESTS OF CHILDREN IN PUBLIC EDUCATION ARE WELL UNDERSTOOD BY TEACHERS, PARENTS, POLICYMAKERS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
