THE PURPOSE OF USVI PUBLIC SAFETY SUPPORT FOUNDATION, INC. IS TO CONDUCT ACTIVITIES THAT ARE EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE, SCIENTIFIC, LITERARY, RELIGIOUS, OR EDUCATIONAL. ACTIVITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO SUPPORTING INNOVATIVE APPROACHES TO PRESSING NEEDS AND CHALLENGES IN THE UNITED STATES VIRGIN ISLANDS, MAKING DISTRIBUTIONS TO ORGANIZATIONS IN FURTHERANCE OF THE CORPORATION'S CHARITABLE PURPOSES AND ACCEPTING, HOLDING, INVESTING, RE-INVESTING AND ADMINISTERING ANY PROPERTY AND RIGHTS OF ANY SORT, TO USE, DISBURSE OR DONATE THE INCOME OR PRINCIPAL FOR EXLCUSIVELY CHARTIABLE PURPOSES.
DURING THE 2019 TAX YEAR, THE USVI PUBLIC SAFETY SUPPORT FOUNDATION, INC. (USVI PSSF) PROVIDED SUPPORT TO VARIOUS U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS POLICE, FIRE AND SUPPORT ENTITIES AS WELL AS OTHER NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS. THE EMPHASIS FOR THIS PERIOD WAS ON MOBILE TRAINING AND ADVISORY TEAMS CONSISTING OF CERTIFIED INSTRUCTORS AND SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTS OBTAINED VIA THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF CHIEFS OF POLICE (IACP) AND POLICE AND FIRE AGENCIES FROM THE CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES. THESE TEAMS CONDUCTED THOROUGH NEEDS ASSESSMENTS, PRE-DEPLOYMENT SITE SURVEYS, DOCTRINAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT AND TRAINING FOR MORE THAN 350 PERSONS FROM THE U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS. ADDITIONALLY, ACQUISITION OF SPECIALIZED EQUIPMENT AND RELATED TECHNICAL SUPPORT IN THE FORM OF VIRTUAL REALITY CONFLICT RESOLUTION AND FORCE DE-ESCALATION TRAINING DEVICES WERE PROVIDED AND UTILIZED FOR INITIAL ENTRY ACADEMY TRAINEES AND VETERAN IN-SERVICE PERSONNEL. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS INCLUDING ATTENDANCE AT CONFERENCES, STAFF VISITS AND ORIENTATION WERE ALSO CONDUCTED IN THE CONTINENTAL U.S. IN CONCERT WITH CHARLESTON, SC FIRE DEPARTMENT, FAIRFAX COUNTY VA POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THE IACP IN COORDINATION WITH TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT RESOURCES, LLC. USVI PUBLIC SAFETY SUPPORT FOUNDATION ALSO SUPPORTED POST DISASTER RECOVERY FOR NGOS ON THE U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS RELATING TO EQUIPMENT AND FUNDING FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES WERE PROVIDED AS WELL. THE USVI PSSF, INC. ANTICIPATES A SIMILAR ROUND OF ACTIVITIES IN TAX YEAR 2019 WITH EMPHASIS ON EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES, COMMUNICATIONS AND COMMUNITY RELATIONS MEASURES RELATING TO ABATEMENT OF GUN VIOLENCE.
