THE MISSION OF EDWARD HOPPER HOUSE IS TO CELEBRATE EDWARD HOPPER'S LEGACY BY PRESERVING HIS BIRTHPLACE, FAMILY HOME AND ARCHIVE, WHILE SERVING AS A RESOURCE FOR SCHOLARS AND ARTISTS AND NURTURING COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENTS WITH THE ARTS.
MUSEUMTO RESTORE AND MAINTAIN THE EDWARD HOPPER HOUSE. TO SERVE AS A COMMUNITY CULTURAL CENTER WITH GALLERY SPACE TO DISPLAY WORKS OF ART IN ALL MEDIA. TO PROVIDE A LOCATION FOR CLASSES, LECTURES, DRAMA AND MUSIC PRESENTATIONS. TO PRESERVE HOPPER FAMILY MEMORABILIA AND TO ACCUMULATE ARCHIVAL MATERIALS.
Public programs, outreach and school/teen programs providing opportunities to community members to access and engage in the formation of America's most significant painter.
Exhibitions align with our mission to celebrate Edward Hoppers legacy by preserving his birthplace, family home and archive while serving as a resource for scholars and artists and nurturing community engagement with the arts. Exhibitions are selected in consultation with the Exhibition Committee, a diverse group of professional artists and curators. Edward Hopper House Museum & Study Center is not currently accepting proposals for exhibitions in the main galleries.
