Montefiore Nyack Hospital runs an emergency department that provides high-quality emergency care 24 hours a day in addition to other ambulatory services. The emergency Department at Nyack Hospital is one of the nation's best for safety, quality of care, efficiency and patient satisfaction and is a designated Area Trauma Center. The ER department prides ourselves as being a "senior-friendly"child-friendly" facility with experts who know how to care for the needs of these special patients. We are also adept at caring for the unique needs of individuals requiring special accommodations for size and mental health needs. Nyack Hospital is currently undergoing a $22 million renovation project that will help us to transform the health care delivery system by integrating access to primary, emergent, specialty and community-based care. The project is set to redesign and double the size of the existing emergency department and create an outpatient medical village that will offer an alternative to traditional hospitalization. The project include a new two-story addition as well as extensive renovations and reconfigurations of existing emergency, lobby and nearby corridors space. The project will double the size of the Emergency department offering a separate fast/track urgent care center, new rapid assessment area, private behavioral health assessment unit, larger trauma treatment bays, dedicated imaging suite with a CT scanner and an integrated decontamination room. The addition of an adjacent urgent care center will assist with providing patients with non-emergent conditions a more appropriate level of ambulatory care and access to primary care providers, reducing unnecessary visits to the emergency department. The Medical Village will house a multi-specialty outpatient service center to include primary and specialty care providers and community-based support services from local service organizations. A patient navigation specialty program will integrate inpatients and outpatients with community-based services and provide transition support. The project is expected to be completed sometime during 2020.
