To develop and build affordable handicapped-accessible rental housing
After a 5 year period of preparation and waiting, in early November 2007, NYSHFA approved a 4.25m funding package to finance the construction of 28 affordable handicapped-accessible rental housing units. The package includes bonds, tax credits and grants. The closing occurred in December 2007 and construction and leasing was completed in 2008. The 28 new rental units are handicapped-accessible one,two and three bedroom apartments for low income families, located within the Village of Nyack.Currently, the NHAC is in the process of assessing similar projects for development.
