Organizations Filed Purposes:
The Oyster Bay Main Street Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating a healthy economy in an attractive hamlet, while maintaining the downtown's historic integrity. We engage the public and private sectors to revitalize the heart of Oyster Bay through responsible preservation, beautification, community events, educational outreach, and business development.
Seasonal Decorations: The organization decorated the lamp posts of the downtown business district with 168 hanging baskets in the summer and 168 wreaths in the winter. The organization also purchases the holiday decorations and Christmas Tree in the center of the downtown. OBMSA installs and maintains all decorations.
Facade & Sign Improvement: Through the organization's privately funded grant we assisted business owners in the downtown with grant money to fabricate and install signs in the business district.
Economic Restructuring: The organization staff is available to help potential new businesses with site selection, navigating the permitting process, and securing individualized market data for business planning and marketing to bring the right types of businesses to the downtown. OBMSA is also securing an independent sewer capacity study that will be used as a planning tool for future responsible development in the downtown.
