THE ART EFFECT OF THE HUDSON VALLEY IS A NOT-FOR-PROFIT COMMUNITY-BASED, MULTI-ARTS EDUCATIONAL CENTER, DEDICATED TO BRINGING A WIDE RANGE OF CREATIVE, EDUCATIONAL AND CULTURALLY-ENRICHING PROGRAMS TO DIVERSE AUDIENCES THROUGHOUT THE HUDSON VALLEY. WE ARE COMMITTED TO SUPPORTING PERSONAL GROWTH, FOSTERING SELF-EXPRESSION, AND ENHANCING HUMAN SERVICES THROUGH THE ARTS, TO "MAKE A DIFFERENCE" IN THE LIFE OF OUR MULTI-CULTURAL COMMUNITY. THE ART EFFECT OF THE HUDSON VALLEY CHANGES LIVES THROUGH THE ARTS. OUR EXTENSIVE RANGE OF PROGRAMS FOSTERS SELF-EXPRESSION AND SUPPORT ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT.
TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL, CREATIVE AND CULTURALLY ENRICHING PROGRAMS USING A MULTI-SENSORY APPROACH.
THE EMPIRE PROGRAM SERVED CITY OF POUGHKEEPSIE YOUTH IN PRIMARY GRADES. OVER 318 POUGHKEEPSIE CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT STUDENTS WERE ENROLLED IN THE EMPIRE AFTERSCHOOL ARTS PROGRAM IN 2019. THESE STUDENTS PRODUCED 2,313 ART AND MEDIA PROJECTS IN THE PROGRAM.
THE ART INSTITUTE SERVES YOUTH AGES 14 AND UP. CLASSES ARE AVAILABLE TO STUDENTS IN ALL DIFFERENT LEVELS OF ABILITY, AND SCHOLARSHIPS ARE OFFERED TO THOSE STUDENTS IN NEED. 89% OF HIGH SCHOOL AGE STUDENTS IN THE ART INSTITUTE PROGRAMS CREATE A PORTFOLIO. 76% OF STUDENTS IN THE ART INSTITUTE WHO APPLY FOR COLLEGE ENTER A 2 OR 4-YEAR INSTITUTION. IN 2019, 65 YOUTH CREATED A PORTFOLIO OF AT LEAST 3 VISUAL ART AND/OR MEDIA PIECES THAT CAN BE USED TO APPLY TO JOBS OR COLLEGES. 100% OF STUDENTS WHO REMAINED IN THE ART EFFECT SEQUENCE OF CLASSES GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL. AND LASTLY, 100% OF STUDENTS WHO COMPLETED ALL OF THEIR ART INSTITUTE CLASSES IN SEQUENCE RECEIVED A COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP.
DUTCHESS AND ULSTER ARTS CAMPS PROVIDE FUN AND FORMATIVE EXPERIENCES IN THE VISUAL, MEDIA, AND PERFORMING ARTS TO CHILDREN AGES 4-12. 327 CHILDREN PARTICIPATED IN THE PROGRAM IN 4 LOCATIONS IN THE MONTHS OF JULY AND AUGUST, 2019: MILLBROOK, POUGHKEEPSIE, RED HOOK, AND NEW PALTZ.
