RESTORATIVE JUSTICE INITIATIVETHE INITIATIVE OFFERS CONFLICT RESOLUTION AND TRAINING SERVICES TO YOUTH, FAMILIES, NEIGHBORS, BUSINESSES, SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITY AGENCIES. RESTORATIVE JUSTICE CAN PROVIDE PARTIES WITH EFFECTIVE WAYS TO PREVENT AND RESPOND TO SOCIAL, CULTURAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONFLICT. SERVICES ARE TAILORED TO THE SPECIFIC CONTEXT AND NEEDS OF PARTICIPANTS AND INCLUDE COMMUNITY BUILDING CIRCLES, ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE ASSESSMENT AND DEVELOPMENT, PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS, STAFF ENRICHMENT RETREATS, COMMUNITY CONFERENCING, CONFLICT COACHING, DIVERSION OF YOUTH FROM JUDICIAL INVOLVEMENT, AND PEER MEDIATION TRAINING.

ELDER PROGRAMS - THE COALITION ON ELDER ABUSE IN DUTCHESS COUNTY IS A GROUP OF INDIVIDUALS AND PRIVATE AND PUBLIC AGENCIES WORKING TOGETHER TO PREVENT ELDER ABUSE THROUGH EDUCATION, OUTREACH AND COLLABORATION. THE COALITION TAKES A MULTI-DISCIPLINARY APPROACH TO ACHIEVING ITS MISSION AND INCLUDES A COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH TO PREVENTING AND RESPONDING TO ELDER ABUSE INCLUDING:CONVENING MONTHLY COALITION MEETINGS WHERE AGENCIES AND COMMUNITY INDIVIDUALS MEET TO DISCUSS AND TAKE ACTION ON ELDER ABUSE,EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH PRESENTATIONS TO CIVIC GROUPS, FRIENDSHIP CENTERS, FAITH COMMUNITIES, WORKPLACE SETTINGS, HOUSING STAFF AND OTHERS TO LEARN THE SIGNS OF ELDER ABUSE AND COMMUNITY RESOURCES THAT HELP, AND TRAININGS FOR PROFESSIONALS TO LEARN THE SIGNS OF ELDER ABUSE, TACTICS THAT ABUSERS USE AND STRATEGIES AND RESOURCES TO HELP,THE MULTIDISCIPLINARY TEAM ON FINANCIAL ABUSE OF OLDER ADULTS COMPRISES PROFESSIONALS FROM VARIOUS DISCIPLINES SUCH AS LAW ENFORCEMENT, BANKING, SOCIAL SERVICES, CIVIL LEGAL SERVICES, PUBLIC PROSECUTORS, MEDICINE AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION. THE TEAM'S PRIMARY FOCUS IS TO INVESTIGATE, INTERVENE, AND PREVENT FINANCIAL EXPLOITATION OF OLDER ADULTS. THE TEAM HAS UNIQUE ACCESS TO A FORENSIC ACCOUNTANT AND GERIATRIC PSYCHIATRIST IN ADDITION TO DRAWING ON THE EXPERTISE OF DISCIPLINES INCLUDING AGING SERVICES, THE FINANCIAL INDUSTRY, AND LOCAL LEGAL AND LAW ENFORCEMENT. THE TEAM PROVIDES A HOLISTIC RESPONSE WHICH INCLUDES RECOMMENDATIONS AND SUPPORT TO THOSE WORKING ON COMPLEX CASES OF FINANCIAL EXPLOITATION.
