Unchained- Caribbean LGBTQ immigrant support group The first of its kind in NYC THE CEP peer culture specific monthly support group provides a safe space to affirm the unique experience and identities of Lesbian,Gay,Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer people of Caribbean descent and their allies to combat discrimination and hate violence. The purpose of unchained is to create a healing space for intergenerational dialogue with topics aimed at educating to end stigma, build healthier relationships, celebrate diversity, promote empowerment and foster family acceptance. Through this distinctive exploration of the LGBTQ experience, while highlighting the unique cultural needs of caribbean individuals. Queer Caribbeans of NYC Stonewall50 first ever multimedia historical perspective showcasingthe racial and cultural intersections of caribbean LGBTQ rights activists. The exhibit contributes to NYCS immigrant history by expanding on Caribbean immigrant and first generation Caribbean American experiences, through exploring Queer, Transgender, and gender non conforming advocacy. A multimedia timeline from the early 1990s -to present anchors the exhibit, taking viewerrs through the struggles against fear and invisibility. The timeline includes a look into the future of LGBTQ rights in the Caribbean diaspora. through the lens of Trinidadian photogragher and filmaker Masheka Josephs original portraits of over twenty notable LGBTQ immigrant activists, artists, and academics of Caribbean heritage and /or descent visit caribbeanequalityproject.org/QueenCaribbeans

L.O.V.E. Living Our Values Equally queer trans empowerment forum Grounded in celebrating Queer Caribbean Love, this annual benefit creates a healing space for dialogue, unity, togetherness through educational presentations, cultural performing arts, strytelling, films, and panel discussions. This is an intergenrational space in nature, grounded in community building with a focus on uplifting those who out of fear live in the shadows to safely access resources and share their experiences of living wothout essential health care, mental health care, and legal status. Through a multidisciplinary approach LOVE produces an opportunity for activists organizers and academics, and artists to empower community members impacted by mental health issues, family rejection, isolation, and living with HIV, which adds another layer of stigma, shame, and discrimination to seek support and find community. The projects ongoing goals are to network, celebrate, educate, build capacity and highlight the cultural diversities and colorful identities of the disporic Caribgean LGBTQ community
