New City Cafe is a coffee shop with a mission to provide jobs to at-risk teenagers and young adults in the Beechwood neighborhood, and to provide a safe community gathering space. Our largest accomplishment in 2019 was establishing roasting operations to roast our own coffee.
441 Properties is comprised of six affordable housing apartments that we maintain to provide high quality housing to our low income neighbors. Our largest accomplishment in 2019 was renovating one of the apartments located in our 441 Parsells Ave building to greatly improve the quality of life of the tenant.
Beechwood Community Garden consists of raised garden beds that are available for families or individuals to use at no cost. We also maintain smaller beds close to the sidewalk on Parsells with free produce available to any neighbor passing by. Furthermore, we utilize the garden as a space to host gardening lessons, nutrition classes, and community picnics. Our largest accomplishment in 2019 was having the highest number of neighbors use the garden to date.This is supported by contributions.
