Organizations Filed Purposes: THE AL SIGL FOUNDATION RAISES, MANAGES AND DISTRIBUTES FUNDS TO FOSTER THE GOALS OF THE AL SIGL COMMUNITY OF AGENCIES, ITS COLLABORATIVE MEMBER AGENCIES, AND THE TENS OF THOUSANDS OF CHILDREN AND ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES AND SPECIAL NEEDS WHO ARE SERVED BY THOSE AGENCIES.

FISCAL 2019 WAS THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY FOR THE AL SIGL COMMUNITY WALKABOUT. IT INVOLVED 900 VOLUNTEERS AND WALKERS WHO, WITH GENEROUS CORPORATE AND COMMUNITY SUPPORT RAISED OVER $92,000 FOR AL SIGL COMMUNITY OF AGENCIES AND ITS MEMBER AGENCIES. PARTICIPATING AGENCIES WERE CP ROCHESTER, EPILEPSY/PRALID, INC., MEDICAL MOTOR SERVICE, NATIONAL MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS SOCIETY UPSTATE NY CHAPTER, ROCHESTER HEARING AND SPEECH CENTER, AND ROCHESTER REHABILITATION. IN AN ATMOSPHERE OF COLLABORATION, TEAMWORK AND CELEBRATING ABILITIES, AGENCIES RAISE MONEY FOR SPECIFIC PROGRAMS AND FUNDS THAT ARE RAISED COLLECTIVELY ARE SHARED BY THE GROUP.

50 YEARS AND STILL GIVING THIS YEAR MARKED THE 50TH YEAR FOR THE AL SIGL GOLF TOURNAMENT. THE GOLF TOURNAMENT IS STEEPED IN TRADITION, AND IS ONE OF ROCHESTER'S OLDEST CHARITABLE GOLF TOURNAMENTS. THE 50TH AL SIGL SPORTS CLASSIC NETTED OVER $100,000. IN ADDITION THE OTHER SPORTS COMMITTEE EVENTS THE TENNIS BENEFIT AND FINE TASTINGS RAISED $27,000 AND $78,000 RESPECTIVELY. THE FOUNDATION THROUGH THE SPORTS COMMITTEE PROVIDED $87,000 IN GRANTS TO MEMBERS AGENCIES TO FUND EQUIPMENT AND PROGRAMS AS WELL AS PROVIDED A SPECIAL $50,000 CAPITAL GRANT TO AL SIGL IN HONOR OF THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY. MEDICAL MOTOR SERVICE WAS PROVIDED WITH A GRANT TO PURCHASE NEW COMPUTERS THAT WILL ENABLE THEM TO INCREASE/IMPROVE SERVICE FOR CHILDREN, ADULTS AND SENIORS THROUGHOUT OUR COMMUNITY. FUNDING FROM THE SPORTS COMMITTEE FOR UPSTATE CHAPTER OF THE NATIONAL MS SOCIETY WILL SUPPORT THE NAVIGATOR PROGRAM WHICH HELPS INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE DIAGNOSED WITH MS. EPLIEPSY PRALID FUNDING SUPPORTED RESPITE AND SELF ADVOCACY PROGRAMS FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL OR ACQUIRED BRAIN CONDITIONS AS THEY STRIVE TO REMOVE BARRIERS TO THEIR PERSONAL FULFILLMENT.

THE AL SIGL FOUNDATION IS CHARGED WITH RAISING FUNDS TO ADVANCE THE MISSION AND OBJECTIVES OF THE AL SIGL COMMUNITY OF AGENCIES AND ITS COLLABORATIVE MEMBER AGENCIES. THIS SUPPORT HELPS PEOPLE OF ALL ABILITIES BECOME MORE INDEPENDENT, ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS AND BE MORE FULLY INCLUDED IN COMMUNITY LIFE.
