MEDIATION/ARBITRATION/NEUTRAL OVERSIGHT - FUNDS ARE USED TO PROCESS OVER 2,569 CASES AS RECORDED BY THE UNIFIED COURT SYSTEM IN AN 8-COUNTY SERVICE AREA OF THE 7TH JUDICIAL DISTRICT OF NEW YORK STATE; PROVIDING SERVICES TO THE COURT SYSTEM AS WELL AS THE COMMUNITY; SERVING APPROXIMATELY 9,117 INDIVIDUALS; CASES RESOLVED WITH DISPUTE RESOLUTION SERVICES PROVIDED WAS 1,497. THE CENTER ALSO PROVIDED NEUTRAL OVERSIGHT TO 81 SURROGATE DECISION MAKING CASES, SERVING 81 CLIENTS.

TRAINING & VOLUNTEER COORDINATION - FUNDS ARE USED TO TRAIN MEDIATORS, ACCORDING TO THE NYS UNIFIED COURT SYSTEMS MEDIATOR STANDARDS, IN ORDER TO PROVIDE OUR CORE SERVICE AS THIRD PARTY NEUTRALS IN MEDIATION, ARBITRATION AND FACT FINDING; TO EDUCATE INDIVIDUALS, COMMUNITY GROUPS, SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS AND STUDENTS IN CONFLICT RESOLUTION, MEDIATION, EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION AND MANAGEMENT OF STRONG EMOTIONS; TO PROVIDE TEAM BUILDING AND ENHANCED EMPLOYEE RELATIONS TO IMPROVE THE WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT IN BUSINESSES AND ORGANIZATIONS; SERVING APPROXIMATELY 500 VOLUNTEERS, STUDENTS AND COMMUNITY LEADERS.

POLICE AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH ACTIVITIES - FUNDS ARE USED: TO CONDUCT POLICE/COMMUNITY OUTREACH INFORMATION SESSIONS, CONDUCT TRAINING SESSIONS FOR POLICE CADETS AND SWORN OFFICERS, FIELD POLICE COMPLAINT INQUIRIES, PROCESS AND MONITOR FORMAL POLICE COMPLAINTS AND CONDUCT APPROXIMATELY 19 FORMAL CIVILIAN COMPLAINT REVIEWS OF CITIZEN COMPLAINTS AGAINST LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES; TO SUPPORT A COUNTY ALTERNATIVES TO INCARCERATION PROGRAM; TO OVERSEE COMMUNITY PUBLIC HOUSING ELECTIONS; TO ACT AS NEUTRAL THIRD PARTY HEARING OFFICERS FOR: PUBLIC HOUSING LEASE TERMINATION HEARINGS, COMMERCIAL AND SMALL CLAIMS DISPUTES, GOVERNMENT GRANT CONSUMER/CONTRACTOR DISPUTES, AND CITY PROPERTY DEMOLITION HEARINGS OFFICERS. THESE PROGRAM AND OUTREACH EFFORTS PROVIDE SERVICES TO MORE THAN 3,000 CITIZENS.
