RESIDENTIAL - WITH APPROXIMATELY 204 INDIVIDUALS LIVING IN COMMUNITY-BASED CERTIFIED HOMES, THE ARC PROVIDES HIGH-QUALITY 24 HOUR CARE IN 30 LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT MONROE COUNTY. SITES INCLUDE INDIVIDUAL FAMILY HOMES AND INTEGRATED APARTMENT SETTINGS. AS ONE OF THE OLDEST AGENCIES IN THE COUNTY, THE ARC HAS ALLOWED MANY INDIVIDUALS TO "AGE IN PLACE" IN A COMFORTABLE, WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT THAT INCLUDES AGENCY NURSES AND TRAINED STAFF IN THE HOME.
DAY HABILITATION - THE ARC OFFERS A WIDE VARIETY OF DAY HABILITATION SERVICES TO APPROXIMATELY 378 INDIVIDUALS IN FIVE SITE-BASED SETTINGS, AS WELL AS TWO COMMUNITY BASED PROGRAMS. EACH DAY SITE PROVIDES UNIQUE OPPORTUNITIES FOR LEARNING NEW SKILLS GEARED TO DIFFERENT AGES AND DISABILITY LEVELS. CLASSES INCLUDE HORTICULTURE, MUSIC, DANCE, AND ART THERAPY. ONE OF THE COMMUNITY PROGRAMS FOCUSES ON VOLUNTEER EFFORTS TO HELP DEVELOP EMPLOYMENT SKILLS AND THE OTHER IS A RETIREMENT PROGRAM THAT IS INTEGRATED INTO A WIDE NUMBER OF COMMUNITY PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES.
COMMUNITY AND VOCATIONAL SERVICES - FOR DECADES, THE ARC HAS BEEN A RECOGNIZED LEADER IN OFFERING VOCATIONAL AND EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES TO THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE THROUGHOUT THE COUNTY. THE AGENCY WORKS WITH OVER 200 COMMUNITY BUSINESSES IN PROVIDING EMPLOYMENT TO INDIVIDUALS. THOSE NOT READY FOR COMPETITIVE EMPLOYMENT CAN PARTICIPATE IN A VARIETY OF PREVOCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES. IN ADDITION TO EMPLOYMENT, THE AGENCY IS ALSO A LEADER IN PROVIDING SPECIALIZED HEALTH CARE SERVICES TO APPROXIMATELY 2,184 INDIVIDUALS THROUGH OUR ON-SITE CLINIC.
