Create affordable housing for low income households.

Homeless Grants, Providence administers 5 permanent supportive housing grant programs funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The programs served over 200 households during the year, providing affordable rental housing with supportive services to formerly homeless individuals and families. In addition to being homeless, each household has at least one family member who has a qualifying disability; such as mental health, physical disabilities, HIV/AIDs and/or addiction. (Continued on Schedule O)Providence also administers 2 street outreach/engagement grants, one funded through the City of Rochester/Monroe County Emergency Shelter Grant and the other through the Monroe County Office of Mental Health. These programs are designed to engage with individuals or families living on the street or in emergency shelters to assist them in obtaining stable housing and linking them to any necessary supports to help prevent future episodes of homelessness.
