OVER THE PAST 20 YEARS, THE SENECA PARK ZOO SOCIETY HAS RAISED MONEY FOR AND HELPED DESIGN AND BUILD MORE THAN $14 MILLION IN CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS TO THE ZOO.
SENECA PARK ZOO INSPIRES OUR COMMUNITY TO CONNECT, CARE FOR, AND CONSERVE WILDLIFE AND WILD PLACES.
EDUCATION AND CONSERVATION - 215,587 GUESTS INTERACTED WITH NATURALISTS, ZOOTEENS AND DOCENTS DURING SUMMER PROGRAMS. THE ZOOMOBILE DELIVERED 369 PROGRAMS AND THE BUTTERFLY BELTWAY HAD 1,250 PEOPLE PARTICIPATE IN PLANTINGS AND OBSERVATIONS. THERE WERE 7 PARK CLEANUPS WITH 7,145 PIECES OF TRASH COLLECTED, AS WELL AS AN EXPANDED URBAN ECOLOGIST PROGRAM. CAMPS, CLASSES, TOURS, OVERNIGHT AND BIRTHDAY PROGRAMS ROUNDED OUT THE ON-SITE PROGRAMS.
ADMISSIONS AND MEMBER SERVICES - PROVIDE FUN AND ENGAGING GUEST EXPERIENCES WHILE VISITING THE ZOO. IN 2019 WE ROSE TO OVER 14,000 MEMBER HOUSEHOLDS, WHO ENJOYED YEAR-ROUND ADMISSION TO THE ZOO. GUESTS AND MEMBERS HELPED RAISE MONEY FOR EDUCATION PROGRAMS AND IN SITU RED PANDA, POLAR BEAR, PENGUIN AND LION CONSERVATION.
ZOO GIFT SHOP - OFFERED ZOO-RELATED MERCHANDISE TO OVER 405,000 GUESTS. MONEY RAISED IS USED TO SUPPORT ANIMAL ACQUISITIONS, INTERPRETIVE SIGNAGE AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS AT THE ZOO, AS WELL AS THE CONSERVATION SNOW LEOPARDS AND GIRAFFES IN THEIR NATURAL RANGE.ZOO FOOD SERVICE - PROVIDES QUALITY FOOD AND BEVERAGES TO GUEST IN 3 ZOO LOCATIONS AND WELL AS PROVIDING FOR CATERED EVENTS AND FUNDRAISING HAPPY HOURS. MONEY RAISED HERE ALSO SUPPORTS EDUCATION AND PROGRAMMING AND CONSERVATION ACTION PROGRAMS.
