It is the mission of Debt Counseling Corp. to provide the highest quality of individual and group education on matters of interest to consumers related to debt, credit and financial management.

The largest service provided by DCC is our one on one in house and telephonic credit counseling. We have educated over 1,750 consumers in this year alone with the majority of those falling in the low/moderate income level. Our counseling is offered to the general public and focuses on financially educating all individuals who are in need of help no matter their situation. Our organization's counseling service enables consumers to have a better understanding of how and where they are spending their money and what can be done to better their financial situation. Counselors complete a budget (Financial Analysis) with the input of the consumer and identify opportunities for consumers to cut back on money being spent. They also present viable options to enable consumers to pay down their debt. An individualized "Action Plan" is composed and offered. Social Service referrals are given (if appropriate). Our in-house Education Department researches and writes all of our educational material which is used to support our counseling sessions. Our second largest area of concentration is our community outreach. Various non-profit agencies, government agencies, schools, employee assistance programs, colleges, churches, libraries and the like invite our Certified Credit Counselors to conduct workshops and seminars at the location of their choice.DCC's Education Dept. has formulated specific programs geared towards the needs of specific groups and also researches and writes all educational materials utilized during these sessions. As a result, our DMP serves only a small percentage of those we counsel (9%). However, this program has proven to be invaluable to those for whom it is a "good fit". Our Certified Credit Counselors continue to educate clients throughout the DMP process as well as after the program is completed for as long as the clients would like. In this way, we help our clients to adapt their budget and spending habits to coincide with life changes which may occur along the way. In addition, DCC interacts with each client's creditors, implements a repayment plan, receives and disburses payments and guides clients in restructuring their spending and payment habits. A skill they will be able to use throughout their lifetime.
