SARATOGA SPRINGS UNIVERSAL PRESERVATION HALL ("UPH") IS A PERFORMING ARTS CENTER LOCATED IN A HISTORIC FORMER CHURCH IN DOWNTOWN SARATOGA SPRINGS. SINCE ITS FOUNDING MORE THAN TEN YEARS AGO, A GROUP OF COMMUNITY ACTIVISTS HAVE SLOWLY AND STEADILY WORKED TO RESTORE THE STRUCTURE AND RE-OPEN IT FOR SEASONAL USE. ANNUALLY, IT SERVES APPROXIMATELY 5,000 PEOPLE ATTENDING MORE THAN 15 EVENTS, INCLUDING MUSIC CONCERTS, FILM SCREENINGS AND COMMUNITY EVENTS. OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL YEARS, UPH WILL CONCLUDE A CAPITAL CAMPAIGN TO FULLY RESTORE THE FACILITY AND OPEN IT FOR YEAR-ROUND USE. ITS MISSION: TO PROVIDE AND PRESERVE A HISTORIC VENUE FOR PERFORMING ARTS, CULTURAL, EDUCATIONAL, AND COMMUNITY EVENTS, TO PROMOTE AND ENHANCE THE ECONOMIC VITALITY OF THE GREATER SARATOGA SPRINGS REGION, AND TO SERVE CITIZENS OF THAT REGION THROUGH USE OF ITS FACILITIES FOR APPROPRIATE EVENTS INCLUDING PRIVATE RENTALS.
