Organizations Filed Purposes:
To acquire and provide resources to non-profit organizations and municipalities for charitable work, educational projects and public improvements.
Dewey Mountain Recreation Area. After completing and transferring a new lodge facility to the Town of Harrietstown New York, that is owned and operated by the Town for the community, the Saranac Lake Rotary Foundation, Inc. continues to partner with Dewey Mountain Friends, an unincorporated association to assist the recreation area. Together we raise funds for capital projects and community programs at the Dewey Mountain Recreation Area pursuant to a Memorandum of Understanding with the Town entered into 7 September, 2010, and updated as appropriate.
The Saranac Lake SkatePark Committee, Inc (NYS non-profit corporation). Is a community organization which completed the construction of a 5,200 Sq. ft. concrete skatepark in the Village of Saranac Lake. The ownership and responsibility for the park was given to the Village of Saranac Lake. The SkatePark Committee continues in a support function and has maintained the landscaping, provided a port-a-potty and trash receptacles. The Committee organizes community events at the park such as competitions and skateboarding lessons. Fundraising continues for future upkeep, activities and improvements at the park such as the installation of lighting.
Saranac Lake Nordic Ski Club. The Club, organized to support Nordic skiing in Saranac Lake, raises funds to support youth participation in Nordic skiing within the Saranac Lake Central School District. Funds are devoted exclusively to benefit youth in elementary, middle and high school by purchasing Nordic ski supplies, providing season ski passes at the Paul Smiths College Visitor Interpretive Center, supporting training and racing at the Dewey Mountain Nordic Ski Center, and supporting the high school Nordic ski program. Provide resources to the Saranac Lake High School Parent Faculty Organization.
