Organizations Filed Purposes:
The purposes of the Association shall be literary. The association shall publish newspapers at the States University of New York at Stony Brook in order to inform, and facilitate communication and education interaction by and between students, faculty, staff, and surrounding community of the State University of New York at Stony Brook. The Association derived from its operations shall not benefit any editor, officer, employee, or member of the association, personally, but shall be used to promote the literary purposes of the Association.
As Stony Brook University's most trusted campus publication, The Statesman has stimulated the campus community with engaging, award-winning journalism while informing students, faculty, and the surrounding community since 1957.
Publishing newspapers, created by students, for the university and surrounding community. Expenses include cost of printing, office supplies, technology fees, and general expenses in putting the newspaper together.
