A CHILD'S PLACE - PROVIDES A NUMBER OF SERVICES SUCH AS A SPECIAL EDUCATION PROGRAM FOR PRESCHOOLERS WITH DISABILITIES, CHILD CARE, EARLY INTERVENTION, AND PRESCHOOL MULTI-DISCIPLINARY EVALUATIONS FOR CHILDREN FROM BIRTH TO FIVE YEARS, WITH THERAPEUTIC SERVICES IN SPEECH/LANGUAGE, PHYSICAL AND OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY, PSYCHOLOGICAL CONSULTATION, GENERAL SKILLS AND SOCIAL WORK. A TRAVELING SUMMER DAY CAMP IS OPEN TO LOW INCOME INNER CITY YOUTH AGES 6-12 OFFERING NATURE WALKS, TRIPS TO STATE PARKS, SWIMMING, SPORTS AND ARTS AND CRAFTS. SERVED 162 CHILDREN IN CHILD CARE, AND SERVED 472 CHILDREN IN UPK AND SPECIAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS.
HOUSING SUPPORT SERVICES UNITY HOUSE OFFERS SEVERAL HOUSING OPTIONS SO THAT ADULTS WITH MENTAL ILLNESS, PEOPLE WITH HIV-AIDS, AND PEOPLE WHO ARE HOMELESS CAN LIVE SAFELY AND SELF-SUFFICIENTLY IN THE COMMUNITY WITH DIGNITY AND INDEPENDENCE. SERVICES AND PROGRAMS INCLUDE CASE MANAGEMENT, COMMUNITY HOUSING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM, COMMUNITY RESIDENCES, HIV-AIDS EDUCATION AND OUTREACH, SUPPORTED HOUSING, TRANSITIONAL APARTMENT SERVICES, PROS, AND TRANSPORTATION. SERVED 52 ADULTS IN COMMUNITY RESIDENCES, 3 INDIVIDUALS IN SITUATIONAL CRISIS BED, 106 ADULTS IN TRANSITIONAL APARTMENT SERVICES, 45 WERE PROVIDED CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES, 216 ADULTS WERE SERVED IN OMH SUPPORTED HOUSING PROGRAM OR HOUSING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FOR PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV/AIDS, 58 SINGLE ADULTS AND 30 FAMILIES SERVED IN COMMUNITY HOUSING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM, 283 INDIVIDUALS RECEIVED HEALTH HOME CARE COORDINATION AND OUTREACH, 105 CLASSES PROVIDED IN PERSONALIZED RECOVERY ORIENTED SERVICES.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SERVICES PROVIDES CRISIS INTERVENTION, A CONFIDENTIAL EMERGENCY THIRTY-THREE BED SHELTER FOR ADULTS AND CHILDREN, HOUSING SUPPORT SERVICES, COUNSELING, SOCIAL SERVICE ADVOCACY AND ACCOMPANIMENT, CHILDREN'S SERVICES, PARENTING AND LIFE SKILLS EDUCATION, INFORMATION AND REFERRAL, LEGAL ASSISTANCE/REPRESENTATION AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL CARE. 176 ADULTS AND 65 CHILDREN FOUND REFUGE IN THIRTY-THREE BED SHELTER, 1,081 INDIVIDUALS RECEIVED NON-RESIDENTIAL SERVICES, 302 ADULTS WERE PROVIDED LEGAL AND SUPPORT SERVICES, 480 INDIVIDUALS PROVIDED TRANSITIONAL AND LONG-TERM RENTAL ASSISTANCE AND SUPPORT, RECEIVED 1,210 CALLS FROM THE RENSSELAER COUNTY DOMESTIC VIOLENCE HOTLINE, 190 SURVIVORS PARTICIPATED IN DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SUPPORT GROUPS, AND 5,262 COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND PROVIDERS REACHED THROUGH 99 COMMUNITY EDUCATION AND AWARENESS EVENTS.
