Operation of a food cupboard for persons in need in Ontario County, NY.

The program service for the Victor Farmington Food Cupboard centers around our mission of feeding families and individuals who are food insecure who reside in Ontario County in New York State. We strive to serve everyone we encounter with dignity and respect and try to create a sense of empowerment so that our clients are able to achieve self-sufficiency. We are operated primarily by volunteers and funded by donations.(Continued on Schedule O)We served an average of 558 Households each month for a total of 18,402 people "shopping". We continued to offer a client choice food pantry open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 9:30-11:30 am and Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings from 5:30-7:30 through March 13. From then until the end of June we served clients with a box of pre packed food as a drive through on Wednesday and Sunday from 2-4 PM. A total of 80 volunteers have donated their services to the Cupboard during this fiscal year. The Cupboard continues its membership to Foodlink, Inc., the regional food bank, which benefits us greatly in terms of buying power, delivery of purchased items, and access to programs which help us educate our clients about healthy eating. Our income is generated from donations given by individuals, businesses, schools and community organizations with support from six local churches that provide funds from their mission budgets. These churches also run food drives for the pantry and make extra space available for our use. Several groups run fund raisers to benefit the Food Cupboard including Otto's, a local restaurant. Cobblestone Creek Charity Guild and the Commodore Cup also provide a portion of money generated from their fund raising efforts to the Cupboard. VFFC Exceptional Youth ScholarshipIn conjunction with the Victor Central School District Dollars for Scholars Program, the Victor Farmington Food Cupboard Executive Board will review the eligibility of potential student candidates to be recognized for their leadership and community involvement in areas that parallel the focus of Victor Farmington Food Cupboard. The amount of the Scholarship and the participation in the annual Dollars for Scholars Program will be at the discretion of the Executive Board.
