Organizations Filed Purposes: SUSTAINABLE AMERICA MAKES OUR NATION'S FOOD AND FUEL SYSTEMS MORE EFFICIENT AND RESILIENT THROUGH CONSUMER EDUCATION CAMPAIGNS, PARTNERSHIPS WITH BUSINESSES, AND BY SUPPORTING INNOVATIVE ENTREPRENEURS.

INVESTING: THE ORGANIZATION LAUNCHED AN IMPACT INVESTING PROGRAM, PROVIDING FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO FOUR INNOVATIVE COMPANIES IN SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE AND RENEWABLE ENERGY. THROUGH SMALL ANGEL INVESTMENTS THE ORGANIZATION CAN ADDRESS FOOD AND FUEL ISSUES AT SCALE WHILE SUPPORTING ENTREPRENEURS AND HELPING TO BUILD MARKETS FOR SOLUTIONS. THROUGH THESE INVESTMENTS WE HELPED BUSINESSES CREATE OVER 36 NEW JOBS, DIVERT OVER 19 MILLION POUNDS OF FOOD WASTE FROM LANDFILLS, SAVE OVER 250,000 GALLONS OF FUEL FROM BEING WASTED, AND PREVENT OVER 6,800 METRIC TONS OF GREEN HOUSE GASSES FROM ENTERING THE ATMOSPHERE. ORGANIZATION EMPLOYEES ALSO PARTICIPATED IN CONFERENCES AND MEETINGS TO HELP PROMOTE THE GROWTH OF IMPACT INVESTING WITHIN THE FOOD AND FUEL SECTORS. ADDITIONALLY, A SMALL GRANT COMPETITION WAS DEPLOYED TO HELP ENTREPRENEURS ACCESS INCUBATORS AND ACCELERATORS AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE. ONE SMALL GRANT WAS AWARDED.

FOOD EFFORTS: THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUED IMPLEMENTING COMPOSTING OPERATIONS AT EVENTS, AND WITH ORGANIZATIONS AND COMPANIES. IT SUCCESSFULLY DIVERTED FOOD WASTE FROM THE LANDFILL AT SIX EVENTS ACROSS THE COUNTRY, INCREASING AWARENESS AND FEEDING THE HUNGRY ALL AT THE SAME TIME. BY DIVERTING WASTE FROM LANDFILLS, THE ORGANIZATION HELPED CREATE COMPOST TO NOURISH THE SOIL AND DECREASE RELIANCE ON CHEMICAL FERTILIZERS AND REDUCED THE AMOUNT OF METHANE AND OTHER HARMFUL GASES RELEASED INTO THE ATMOSPHERE BY FOOD ROTTING IN LANDFILLS. ORGANIZATION EMPLOYEES ATTENDED AND PRESENTED AT CONFERENCES AND MEETINGS AROUND THE COUNTRY FOCUSING ON FOOD SUSTAINABILITY. THE ORGANIZATION BEGAN WORK ON A NEW CONSUMER EDUCATION WEBSITE CALLED WWW.IVALUEFOOD.COM THAT WILL LAUNCH AT THE START OF 2015. IT'S ONLINE PRESENCE CONTINUED TO GROW AND THREE OF THE ORGANIZATIONS NEW FOOD RELATED INFOGRAPHICS WERE SHARED BY MORE THAN 105,000 PEOPLE. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO LICENSED SOME OF ITS GRAPHICS TO REPUTABLE MEDIA PROPERTIES INCLUDING NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO ACQUIRED AN ADDITIONAL WEB PLATFORM, WWW.SHAREDEARTH.COM TO ENCOURAGE THE PRODUCTIVE USE OF LAND BY CONSUMERS AND BUSINESSES TO INCREASE FOOD ACCESSIBILITY AND SUPPORT LOCAL COMMUNITIES.

FUEL EFFORTS: THE ORGANIZATION EXPANDED ITS CONSUMER CAMPAIGN TO REDUCE VEHICLE IDLING, RECRUITING OVER 10,000 INDIVIDUALS TO SIGN OUR PLEDGE TO REDUCE IDLING. THESE DRIVERS HAVE SAVED 136,579 GALLONS OF FUEL, REFLECTING A COST SAVINGS OF MORE THAN $455,000 AND HAS KEPT OVER 2.6 MILLION POUNDS OF GREEN HOUSE GAS EMISSIONS FROM ENTERING THE ATMOSPHERE. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO BEGAN A FLEET SUSTAINABILITY PROGRAM, WORKING DIRECTLY TO IMPLEMENT DRIVER TRAINING PROGRAMS AND INCREASE AWARENESS. WORKING WITH ONLY A THIRD OF THEIR FLEET, THE ORGANIZATION HELPED THIS COMPANY SAVE OVER 5,000 GALLONS OF DIESEL IN LESS THAN A YEAR. THIS REFLECTS A COST SAVINGS OF $18,000 AND A KEPT 114,000 POUNDS OF GREEN HOUSE GAS EMISSIONS FROM ENTERING THE ATMOSPHERE. THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUED ITS ONLINE PRESENCE AROUND FUEL SUSTAINABILITY, AMASSING OVER 167,000 SHARES OF ITS THREE MOST POPULAR FUEL INFOGRAPHICS AND PROVIDING EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES FOR INDIVIDUALS TO TAKE ACTION IN THEIR OWN COMMUNITIES. ORGANIZATION STAFF ALSO ATTENDED AND PRESENTED AT NUMEROUS CONFERENCES AND MEETINGS AND HOSTED LOCAL EVENTS, RAISING AWARENESS AND INTRODUCING SOLUTIONS TO IMPROVE OUR NATION'S FUELSYSTEM.
