Organizations Filed Purposes: WESTCHESTER PARKS FOUNDATION, INC. IS A NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION WHOSE MISSION IS TO SUPPORT AND ENHANCE WESTCHESTER COUNTY PARKS BY PROMOTING THEIR VALUE FOR THE ECONOMIC, SOCIAL AND AESTHETIC VITALITY OF OUR COMMUNITY. OUR GOAL IS TO STIMULATE PUBLIC PARTICIPATION, INTEREST AND SUPPORT IN THE PRESERVATION OF NEARLY 18,000 ACRES OF PARKS, TRAIL WAYS, PATHWAYS AND OPEN SPACES. WPF HELPS TO KEEP THE PARKS SYSTEM CLEAN, GREEN AND GROWING!

TO SUPPORT, INVEST IN, AND PROMOTE THE PARKS WITHIN THE WESTCHESTER COUNTY PARK SYSTEM.

CAMP MORTY: A SIX-WEEK SUMMER PROGRAM PROVIDED TO UNDERPRIVILEGED CHILDREN AT A WESTCHESTER COUNTY PARK, SAL J. PREZIOSO- MOUNTAIN LAKES, NORTH SALEM, NEW YORK. CHILDREN IN FOSTER CARE, CHILD PROTECTIVE, HOMELESS AND MEDICARE ELIGIBLE ARE PROVIDED THIS OPPORTUNITY OF A WEEK OF LIVING ON THE CAMP SITE AND BEING A PART OF A CAMP EXPERIENCE. ACCOMMODATIONS AND MEALS ARE PROVIDED AT NO COST TO THE CAMPER. PROGRAM ACTIVITIES INCLUDE SWIMMING, BOATING, FISHING, ROPE CHALLENGES, DRAMA ACTIVITIES, MUSIC, SPORT AS WELL AS TEAM BUILDING EXERCISES. THIS YEAR, WE RECEIVED A RECORD 604 COMPLETE APPLICATIONS AND WERE ABLE TO BRING 403 INDIVIDUAL CAMPERS TO CAMP WITH 467 CAMPER SPACES FILLED.STAFF MEMBERS FROM OUTSIDE OF THE US, AS WELL AS DOMESTIC STAFF FROM 10 DIFFERENT STATES, SUPPLY CAMPERS AN OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN ABOUT DIFFERENT CULTURES WITHOUT HAVING TO LEAVE WESTCHESTER.OUR DEDICATED PARTNERS IN THIS MISSION INCLUDE: DEPARTMENT OF PARKS, RECREATION, AND CONSERVATION, THE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES, AND THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH. CAMP MORTY IS INTEGRAL TO THE MISSION OF WPF. THANKS TO CAMP MORTY, THOUSANDS OF WESTCHESTER'S CHILDREN ARE GIVEN AN OPPORTUNITY OF HAVING AN OUTDOOR CAMP EXPERIENCE.

WESTCHESTER WINTER WONDERLAND: WPF IS EXTREMELY PROUD TO SPONSOR WINTER WONDERLAND EACH YEAR, PRODUCED BY OUR PARTNERS, THE DEDICATED STAFF AND ADMINISTRATION OF THE WESTCHESTER COUNTY PARKS DEPARTMENT. OVER 130,000 PEOPLE HAVE EXPERIENCED WINTER WONDERLAND SINCE THE PROGRAM BEGAN. THE SEASON OPENS THE FRIDAY FOLLOWING THANKSGIVING UNTIL DECEMBER 31. LIGHTING OF THE CHRISTMAS TREE KICKS OFF THE PROGRAM WHICH ALSO INCLUDES A CONTINUOUS MUSIC/LIGHTING SHOW, ICE SKATING, RIDES, CIRCUS SHOWS, RETAIL VENDORS AND FOOD VENDORS.THE USE AND ENJOYMENT OF OUR PARKS IS CORE TO OUR MISSION, AND WINTER WONDERLAND INVITES PEOPLE OF ALL AGES TO ENJOY THE SPECTACULAR BEAUTY OF KENSICO DAM PLAZA DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON. PROCEEDS FROM THIS EVENT DIRECTLY BENEFIT WESTCHESTER PARKS FOUNDATION AND ALLOW US TO SERVE THE PARK SYSTEM YEAR ROUND THROUGH PROGRAMMING, ADVOCACY, AND DIRECT SUPPORT.

DRIVING RANGES: WESTCHESTER PARKS FOUNDATION OPERATES TWO DRIVING RANGES, ONE AT MOHANSIC IN YORKTOWN AND ONE AT DUNWOODIE IN YONKERS. IN ACCORDANCE WITH OUR MISSION, WE ENCOURAGE THE USE OF WESTCHESTER'S COUNTY PARKS, OF WHICH THESE DRIVING RANGES ARE PART, AND THE PROCEEDS COLLECTED AT THE RANGES ARE USED IN OUR PROGRAMS AND INVESTMENTS IN SUPPORT OF THE PARK SYSTEM.
