GATEWAY-LONGVIEW'S RESIDENTIAL PROGRAMS ARE DESIGNED TO STRENGTHEN FAMILIES, PROVIDE GUIDANCE AND SUPPORT FOR TEENS AND YOUNG ADULTS, AND IMPROVE THE LIVES OF CHILDREN WE SERVE THAT NEED 24-HOUR-A-DAY SUPPORT, COUNSELING, AND CARE. GATEWAY-LONGVIEW'S RESIDENTIAL SERVICES INCLUDE RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT, CHANGING ATTITUDES AND BEHAVIORS (CAB), EDUCATIONAL SERVICES, RECREATION DEPARTMENT, SPIRITUAL LIFE DEVELOPMENT, CASEY LIFE SKILLS TRAINING, INDEPENDENT LIVING SKILL BUILDING, AND NON SECURE DETENTION SERVICES TO ERIE AND SURROUNDING COUNTIES. 100% OF THE YOUTH PARTICIPATED IN LIFE SKILLS TRAINING ON CAMPUS. 100% OF THE YOUTH ARE OFFERED AND PARTICIAPTE IN INDIVIDUAL, FAMILY AND GROUP COUNSELING TO WORK TOWARDS SUCCESSFUL DISCHARGE.
GATEWAY- LONGVIEW'S EDUCATIONAL SERVICES PROGRAMS PROVIDE SPECIAL EDUCATION SERVICES FOR CHILDREN, AGES 3-21, WHO REQUIRE A HIGH DEGREE OF STRUCTURE, INDIVIDUALIZED ACADEMICS AND INTENSIVE SUPPORT SERVICES. GATEWAY-LONGVIEW IS A NEW YORK STATE APPROVED PRIVATE SCHOOL FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION STUDENTS FOR WHOM THE CHILD'S SCHOOL DISTRICT / COUNTY AND PARENTS FEEL REQUIRE THE INTENSITY OF SERVICES WE OFFER. THE PROGRAM SEEKS TO EMPOWER STUDENTS TO EXPAND THEIR SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY, IMPROVE THEIR SELF-CONTROL AND ENHANCE THEIR ABILITIES TO FORM AND MAINTAIN APPROPRIATE RELATIONSHIPS WITH PEERS AND ADULTS WHILE INCREASING THEIR ACADEMIC ABILITIES. THE SERVICES INCLUDE THERAPEUTIC PRESCHOOL, DAY SCHOOL AND RESIDENTIAL EDUCATION. THE THERAPEUTIC PRESCHOOL SAW 95% OF STUDENTS IMPROVE THEIR BEHAVIOR AND SOCIAL SKILLS AS MEASURED BY THE DEVELOPMENTAL THERAPY OBJECTIONS RATING FORM PRE AND POST-TEST. 97% OF ALL SCHOOL AGE STUDENTS GRADUATED TO THE NEXT GRADE LEVEL.
GATEWAY-LONGVIEW'S COMMUNITY SERVICES PROGRAMS ARE DESIGNED TO STRENGTHEN AND STABILIZE FAMILIES. THE PROGRAMS INCLUDE: FOSTER CARE AND ADOPTION SERVICES; THERAPEUTIC FOSTER CARE; PREVENTIVE SERVICES; RESPITE SERVICES; SUPERVISED INDEPENDENT LIVING; THERAPEUTIC FACILITATED VISITATION; YOUTH ENGAGEMENT AND INDEPENDENT LIVING; AND PARENT TRAINING. THE PROGRAMS FOCUS ON THE SAFETY OF CHILDREN WITH 95% OF FAMILIES HAVING NO NEW INCIDENTS OF ABUSE OR NEGLECT WHILE RECEIVING SERVICES THROUGH THE AGENCY'S KINSHIP PREVENTIVE PROGRAM. IN FOSTER CARE, THE AGENCY HAS ACHIEVED OVER 210% MORE CONTACTS WITH BIRTH FAMILIES THAN REQUIRED BY ERIE COUNTY. IN THE AGENCY'S SUPERVISED INDEPENDENT LIVING PROGRAM, 100% OF THE YOUNG ADULTS ENROLLED WERE CURRENTLY ACTIVE IN OR HAD SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED AN EDUCATIONAL OR VOCATIONAL PROGRAM. IN THE TRADITIONAL PREVENTIVE SERVICES PROGRAM, 97% OF FAMILIES HAD NO NEW INCIDENTS OF SUBSTANTIATED ABUSE OR NEGLECT WHILE RECEIVING SERVICES. 75% OF THE YOUTH REFERRED TO THE YOUTH ENGAGEMENT SERVICES/INDEPENDENT LIVING PROGRAM HAD A FACE-TO-FACE CONTACT WITH A GATEWAY-LONGVIEW WORKER WITHIN 10 DAYS OF THE REFERRAL. IN THE PARENT TRAINING PROGRAM, 99% OF THE PARTICIPANTS WHO HAVE COMPLETED THE PROGRAM HAVE INCREASED THEIR KNOWLEDGE IN PARENTING SKILLS. IN THE VISITATION PROGRAM, THE PROGRAM IMPROVED PARENT ENGAGMENT WITHIN 48 HOURS FROM 50% TO 80% OF THE TIME. IN THE INTENSIVE PREVENTIVE PROGRAM, 90% OF THE FAMILIES REMAINED INTACT DURING SERVICE PROVISION.
