Organizations Filed Purposes:
The mission of the Organization is to help bridge the opportunity gap among underserved students by providing programs designed to improve academic performance, health and wellness, and leadership skills for success in life.
After School: The Organization supplements the limited enrichment programs available during the school day by providing thousands of under privileged children with engaging extracurricular activities, as well as a safe and supportive environment during out-of-school hours. The Organization's flagship program is its Champions Clubs. Champions Clubs both supplement and support the school day, offering programming in academics, arts, and sports, tutoring to support success in school-day academics, and the Organization's Pathways to Success program. Pathways to Success comprises middle school today, high school tomorrow and high school today, college tomorrow. These curricula prepare students to transition successfully from middle school, to high school, to college, providing under-privileged students the guidance and preparation they need to access opportunity. Sites operate for 36 weeks during the school year with an average of 12 to 15 hours per week.
Summer Camps: The Organization offers summer camp to low income children free of charge. Similar to after school programs, summer camps offer programming in academic, athletic, and artistic disciplines all built around an interdisciplinary theme. These programs help to prevent summer learning loss and also allow for more frequent field trips. The programs run in July and August each year and range from a 4 to 7 week program, 4 to 5 days per week. As part of this program, the Organization provides first time paid employment opportunities to counselors in training ages 14 to 16.
