Organizations Filed Purposes:
THE CORPORATION IS FORMED TO ALLEVIATE POVERTY IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES THROUGH ENCOURAGING RESPONSIBLE AND SUSTAINABLE TRADE, PARTICULARLY IN THE TEXTILE AND APPAREL INDUSTRY, AND BY IMPROVING THE LIVES OF INDIGENT WORKERS AND THEIR FAMILIES IN A SPECIFIED LABOR SECTOR. IN FURTHERANCE OF THIS CHARITABLE PURPOSE, THE CORPORATION SHALL, BY MEANS OF CONTRIBUTIONS OR GRANTS; PROVIDING, OR CONTRACTING TO PROVIDE, MANAGEMENT SUPPORT, TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND OTHER EXECUTIVE SERVICES; MAKING, OR ENCOURAGING THE MAKING OF, INVESTMENTS, DIRECTLY OR THROUGH AFFILIATED OR NON-AFFILIATED ENTITIES. THE CORPORATION WILL ENCOURGE ACCESS TO SOCIAL SERVICES TO BENEFIT THE LIVES OF SAID WORKERS, NOT TO EXCLUDE DIRECT IMPLEMENTATION.

IN FURTHERANCE OF THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION, AS STATED ABOVE: SHARE HOPE CONTINUED TO IMPLEMENT THE HERHEALTH PROGRAM (PREVIOUSLY HERPROJECT), - A LICENSED PROGRAM UNDER BUSINESS FOR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (BSR). SPECIFICALLY, THE PROGRAM HAS SIX HEALTH RELATED MODULES; WATER BORNE DISEASES, INCLUDING CHOLERA, PERSONAL HYGIENE, NUTRITION, HIV/AIDS, SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED INFECTIONS (STIS), AND FAMILY PLANNING. ON THE WHOLE A TOTAL 5,592 FEMALE AND 196 MALE WORKERS PARTICIPATED IN THESE PROGRAMS IN THE CAPITAL OF PORT-AU-PRINCE, AND 2,962 FEMALE WORKERS IN THE NORTHERN CITY OF OUANAMINTHE. WE ESTIMATE THAT THE OVERALL REACH WAS TO 8,750 DIRECTLY AND APPROXIMATELY 52,500 INDIRECTLY (WOMEN, MEN AND FAMILY MEMBERS).
IN FURTHERANCE OF THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION AS STATED ABOVE: SHARE HOPE FOUNDATION CONTINUED TO IMPLEMENT A HIGH SCHOOL COMPLETION PROGRAM (HSCP). THE PROGRAM IS A COURSE THAT PREPARES FACTORY WORKERS WHO WERE UNABLE TO COMPLETE THEIR FORMAL EDUCATION, FOR THE NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL LEAVING EXAM AND FOLLOWS THE NATIONAL CURRICULUM. THE PROGRAM SEEKS TO EMPOWER STUDENTS, DEVELOP THEIR SELF-CONFIDENCE, ENCOURAGE THEM TO THINK CRITICALLY AND HELP THEM MAKE PERSONAL, APPLICABLE CONNECTIONS BETWEEN KNOWLEDGE AND THEIR PERSONAL LIVES. THE GOAL OF THE PROGRAM IS TO HELP STUDENTS FINISH WHAT THEY STARTED AND TO PROVIDE THEM WITH NEWER LEARNING STRATEGIES AND METHODS TO BECOME LIFELONG LEARNERS. THE PROGRAM HAS ENROLLED 117 WOMEN AND 93 MEN, AGES 22 - 45 THE STUDENTS MET FROM 4:30 TO 7:30 PM MONDAY - FRIDAY FOLLOWING A FULL DAY OF WORK.
IN FURTHERANCE OF THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION AS STATED ABOVE: SHARE HOPE FOUNDATION CONTINUED TO PARTNER WITH THE STARKEY HEARING FOUNDATION TO PROVIDE ACCESS TO AND MAINTENANCE OF HEARING AIDS FOR 72 DEAF AND/OR HARD OF HEARING WORKERS IN THE GARMENT SECTOR. 48 OF THESE WORKERS WERE EMPLOYED IN A FACTORY THAT HAS RECEIVED HERHEALTH TRAINING. SHARE HOPE CONTINUED TO EXPAND OUTREACH AND SERVICES TO THIS POPULATION. WITH FINANCIAL SUPPORT FROM THE ILO THROUGH THE BETTER WORK HAITI PROGRAM, SHARE HOPE DESIGNED A COMMUNICATIONS AND LITERACY PROGRAM FOR THESE WORKERS. THE PROGRAM INCLUDES SIGN LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY, LITERACY ACQUISITION AND SPEECH PATHOLOGY. 32 DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING WORKERS WERE ENROLLED. TWO WORKERS WERE SUPPORTED WITH SPEECH THERAPY.
