Organizations Filed Purposes:
To collect, record and preserve the pedigrees and changes of ownership of Haflinger horses in North America; to maintain a Stud Book and registry; to promote and support only one United States Haflinger Registry; to stimulate and regulate any and all matters such as may pertain to the history, breeding, education, exhibition, publicity, sale or improvements of this breed.
Production of bimonthly magazine/newsletter, serving 614 members and 35 magazine subscribers. Magazine promotes our breed and gets the word out on points of interest to people who own Haflinger horses.
Spring and fall auctions serve as a fund raiser for the registry, as well as providing an outlet for owners of registered haflingers to sell their stock. The purchasing and selling is open to both members and non-members. The spring auction sold 43 horses and the fall auction sold 1.
National Show - promotes excellence in breeding and training of our breed of horses. Also general promotion of the breed. 73 horses participate, from about 22 farms. Spectators are not charged admission, so it cannot be determined how many attend. Non-members may participate, although the horses must be registered.
