Organizations Filed Purposes: The organization operates for the benefit of Summit Metro Parks to further its charitable purpose.

The Summit Metro Parks Foundation continued the support of the design and construction of the Valley View Barn and the Summit Lake Nature Center. Funding was also provided for the Summit Lake Nature Center interior exhibit space design and fabrication. At Valley View, the foundation supported the access road engineering along with sanitary and electrical improvements. Additionally, the first centennial tree planting at Munroe Falls Metro Park was organized by the foundation.

As one of the many collaborators for the Reimagining Civic Commons project convened by the Ohio and Erie Canalway Coalition, the Summit Metro Parks Foundation has continued program and capital development in the Summit Lake neighborhood of Akron along with the Ohio & Erie Towpath Trail. A pop-up nature center, outreach programming, and ongoing improvements of public recreation areas for Ohio & Erie Canalway trail-users and the community as a whole.

The Summit Metro Parks Foundation provided funds to assist multiple Summit Metro Parks programs, including Summit Lake Nature Center programs, youth fishing and conservation programs.
