Organizations Filed Purposes:
To initiate and encourage collective economic and community development growth within the first-ring suburbs of Cleveland. FSCDC provides technical assistance, expertise and resources to member cities to strengthen the capacity of cities advancing development and redevelopment.
The First Suburbs Regionalized Code Enforcement Software Pilot increased from six to nine participating communities in 2020. This effort was an invaluable tool as COVID-19 shutdowns closed City Halls to the public but still allowed municipal Building Departments to keep open through this on-line platform. Efforts to grow the Northeast Ohio Advanced Energy District in 2020 successfully brought new municipal members to the special improvement district and closed over $10M in PACE financed projects. First Suburbs also provided much needed support and outreach to member municipalities during the COVID-19 Pandemic including identification of assistance programs, advocating for small business assistance programs and sharing best practices as communities navigated through closures and re-openings.
