4th Street Basement Boutique opened in 2002 to provide an outlet to sell excess clothing donated to Dress for Success Cincinnati that was not appropriate for suiting with the goal of providing affordable clothing to lower-income women. 4th Street Basement Boutique has grown into a resale boutique that sells a range of clothing, including high-end items, at thrift store prices which permits it to provide financial support to Dress for Success Cincinnati. 4th Street Basement Boutique's customers include clients of Dress for Success Cincinnati, other lower-income women and other member of the public at large. Its support allows Dress for Success Cincinnati to offer interview clothing and work attire to clients as well as one-on-one career development and job retention programs. Since its formation, it has returned over $500,000 to Dress for Success Cincinnati. In August, 2014, 4th Street Basement Boutique began doing business as Portaluca. Portaluca sells a range of clothing, including new and gently used women's clothing, shoes and accessories at affordable prices. Weekly specials, monthly events, unique designer sales and personable staff and volunteers make Portaluca a wonderful place to shop. Through increased sales, Portaluca was able to transfer $45,000 to Dress for Success Cincinnati to support its programs for women who are entering or re-entering the workforce.
