Foodbank and Feeding the Hungry - Catholic Charities serves the hungry through emergency food assistance in Clark, Champaign and Logan Counties through its Second Harvest Food Bank. The food bank distributed 4,169,800 meals through member agencies, mobiles and its own food pantry. In Cincinnati and the Southwest Ohio rural area (Clermont, Brown, Adams, Highland and Clinton Counties), 274,647 meals were provided through Catholic Charities' Food For All Program, which includes rural and school-based pantries, Power Pack programs and fresh produce pantries.
Su Casa Hispanic Center and Immigration Legal Services - St. Matthew includes the "stranger" in the final judgment on love (Mt 25:31-46). In response, Su Casa ("your home") extends a loving welcome to the Hispanic and Latino community in Greater Cincinnati. In 2019, Su Casa provided emergency assistance stabilization services, education, health promotions, legal translation and interpretation, advocacy, mental health services and support to unaccompanied migrant children. Among other services, 2,182 individuals sought Su Casa Emergency Assistance Stabilization Services, 2,274 participated in health fair events and 69 children graduated from Su Casa's Vacaciones Utiles summer program. Through Catholic Charities' Immigration Legal Services, 352 case services were provided to family members of U.S. citizens and permanent residents, those facing deportation, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) applicants, victims of human trafficking, refugees, asylum seekers and anyone seeking naturalization.
Refugee Resettlement - Catholic Charities serves refugees who come to the United States through the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. Refugees are fleeing violence or religious and political persecution in their homelands, seeking a better life for themselves and their families. They arrive with little more than clothes on their backs and hearts full of hope for a better life for their families. In 2019, Catholic Charities resettled 66 new refugees to Greater Cincinnati, found employment for 91 refugees and other migrants, provided 164 refugees with emergency assistance, and offered many others financial literacy and employment services.
