CHILD CARE REFERRAL AND FAMILY PROGRAMS: 4C IS FOCUSED ON HELPING FAMILIES FIND AND CHOOSE QUALITY CARE AND EMPOWERING FAMILIES WITH KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS TO ENSURE THEIR CHILD'S OPTIMAL DEVELOPMENT. 4C USES A COMPREHENSIVE DATABASE OF CHILD CARE CENTERS, PRESCHOOL PROGRAMS, FAMILY CHILD CARE HOMES, HEAD START PROGRAMS, AND AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS TO PROVIDE CHILD CARE REFERRALS TO FAMILIES. IN 2019, 4C HELPED 8,037 FAMILIES FIND CHILD CARE AND ACCESS PARENT EDUCATION. 4C SERVED 2,790 FAMILIES THROUGH THE STRENGTHENING FAMILIES PROGRAM AND 95% OF THE PARENTS WHO RESPONDED LEARNED NEW WAYS TO SUPPORT THEIR CHILD'S DEVELOPMENT AND LEARNING. IN ADDITION, 4C HELPED 110 FAMILIES EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS FIND RELIABLE CHILD CARE.
4C'S CHILD NUTRITION PROGRAM ADMINISTERS THE FEDERAL MEAL REIMBURSEMENT PROGRAM FOR CHILD CARE PROVIDERS. THE PROGRAM MAKES IT POSSIBLE FOR CHILDREN TO RECEIVE HEALTHY, NUTRITIOUS MEALS WHILE IN CHILD CARE AND DEVELOP HEALTHY EATING HABITS AT AN EARLY AGE. IN 2019, 4C SUPPORTED 435 CHILD CARE PROGRAMS THROUGH THE CHILD NUTRITION PROGRAM, PROVIDING 2,140,753 NUTRITIOUS MEALS TO CHILDREN IN CHILD CARE.
