Heritage Acres Memorial Sanctuary is a dedicated natural burial ground. Our commitment to creating a nature preserve where people may be laid to rest naturally, calls us to compassion both for the earth, and for our fellow human beings.
Throughout the year 2019 Heritage Acres was engaged in a Capital Fund Drive to encourage the donations and/or loans that would eventually allow us to acquire the land needed to begin operation. In April we entered into a contract to purchase 40 acres located at 796 Locust Corner Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45245. The fund campaign was successful, with individual donation amounts ranging from $25 to $20,000. We were able to raise the full sale price necessary to purchase the land outright. In October, we closed on the purchase of the property and became owners of the land that is now Heritage Acres. During the remainder of the year, and well into 2020, we were involved in preparing the land to become an operating natural burial ground and sanctuary. At the time of this filing we have completed two burials, and entered into several contracts for burial rights when needed. There were no program expenses in 2019.
