Organizations Filed Purposes:
We strengthen our community by engaging attorney volunteers to provide nonprofits with free legal services tailored to their business needs.
Direct Legal Services: Our main program service is our direct legal representation of qualifying Cincinnati and Dayton social service nonprofit organizations in connection with their business legal needs. We do this by recruiting hundreds of attorneys from major corporations and law firms who donate their time and expertise on behalf of our nonprofit clients, enhancing the ability of these organizations to achieve their missions and help the people and communities they serve. In 2019, PBPO provided free legal assistance to 135 nonprofit organizations and matched 250+ volunteer attorneys with almost 1400 different legal projects saving our clients almost $800,000 in legal fees. Workshops: Legal staff and volunteer attorneys provide workshops and webinars focused on helping nonprofit leaders and directors identify and address important legal obligations, adopt best practices, and avoid risk. In 2019 PBPO provided 19 educational outreach seminars and workshops available to all nonprofit leaders and board members throughout our region. Publications: PBPO publishes newsletters and legal alerts on issues impacting nonprofits are available on our website for easy access by nonprofits and attorneys.
