Organizations Filed Purposes: Our mission is ending the euthanasia of cats and dogs in local shelters and keeping pets in their loving homes by providing professional and affordable spay/neuter services and wellness.

UCANs mission is to stop the euthanasia of healthy and treatable homeless cats and dogs in local shelters in the Greater Cincinnati area. We accomplish that mission by operating a low-cost spay/neuter clinic that provides professional sterilization surgery for pets of low-income residents for low-cost (free to those who cannot afford anything) to prevent those pets from reproducing and to keep them healthy. UCAN performed 9,579 surgeries in 2020: 6,023 cat surgeries and 3,556 dog surgeries. The organization has now performed over 140,313 surgeries since opening in April 2007. These surgeries have prevented hundreds of thousands of unwanted cats and dogs from being born into abuse, neglect and ultimately facing euthanasia in overcrowded shelters. Continued on Schedule O

The clinic offers low-cost wellness visits for income-qualified pet owners so their pets can get a thorough examination, treatment for minor issues, and preventative services to keep their pets healthy. 5,685 pets received their core vaccines and other basic veterinary services during the year. We also helped 168 people through the difficult time of saying goodbye to their beloved pets.
