THE MISSION OF THE CUYAHOGA COMMUNITY COLLEGE FOUNDATION IS (CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O) TO PROVIDE RESOURCES FOR ADVANCING STUDENT SUCCESS AT CUYAHOGA COMMUNITY COLLEGE AND TO TRANSFORM THE LIVES OF THOSE TRI-C SERVES. OUR VISION IS TO ENSURE THAT TRI-C HAS THE RESOURCES NEEDED TO HELP EVERY STUDENT LEARN, THRIVE, AND SUCCEED, AND TO CREATE A PROSPEROUS COMMUNITY FOR ALL. OUR FOCUS IS TO REIMAGINE A TRANSFORMED WORKFORCE SYSTEM BY SERVING THOSE MOST IN NEED THROUGH ACCESSIBLE, FLEXIBLE AND BARRIER-FREE EDUCATION THAT LEADS TO LIFE-CHANGING JOBS WHILE MEETING THE DEMANDS OF OUR REGION'S VITAL INDUSTRIES.

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: ALTHOUGH THE COLLEGE'S TUITION IS THE LOWEST IN NORTHEAST OHIO, THERE ARE STUDENTS IN OUR COMMUNITY WHO, WITHOUT SOME FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, ARE UNABLE TO ACCESS OR CONTINUE THEIR EDUCATION. SCHOLARSHIPS INCREASE ACCESS TO HIGHER EDUCATION AND SUPPORT THE ULTIMATE GOAL OF EXPEDITING STUDENT TRANSITION THROUGH COLLEGE AND REDUCING THEIR TIME TO GRADUATION. SCHOLARSHIPS HAVE ENABLED THOUSANDS OF STUDENTS TO ACCESS AND OBTAIN THEIR COLLEGE EDUCATION. OVER A FIVE YEAR PERIOD (FY2016-2020), 14,538 SCHOLARSHIPS TOTALING $15.8 MILLION WERE DISTRIBUTED TO TRI-C STUDENTS. THE AVERAGE SCHOLARSHIP WAS $1,200. MEETING THE NEED FOR SCHOLARSHIP SUPPORT FOR OUR STUDENTS CONTINUES TO BE A MAJOR PRIORITY FOR THE TRI-C FOUNDATION.

EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT: TRI-C FOUNDATION SUPPORTS DEVELOPMENT AND ENHANCEMENT OF EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS OFFERED BY TRI-C IN RESPONSE TO WORKFORCE AND STUDENT NEEDS. TRI-C CENTERS OF EXCELLENCE ARE DESIGNED TO MEET THE EDUCATIONAL, CULTURAL AND ECONOMIC NEEDS OF OUR COMMUNITIES BY PROVIDING THE MOST INNOVATIVE PROGRAMMING AVAILABLE. TRI-C'S SIX CENTERS OF EXCELLENCE INCLUDE CREATIVE ARTS, HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, MANUFACTURING, NURSING, AND PUBLIC SAFETY. THE CENTERS OFFER HIGH-QUALITY, INDUSTRY-RELEVANT COURSES TO PROVIDE THE COMPREHENSIVE, HANDS-ON TRAINING STUDENTS NEED TO GAIN A COMPETITIVE EDGE IN TODAY'S JOB MARKET. PROGRAMS IN TRI-C'S CENTERS OF EXCELLENCE ADDRESS KEY AREAS (CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O)IN WHICH FUTURE JOB GROWTH IS EXPECTED; PROVIDE SKILLED WORKERS FOR LOCAL EMPLOYERS; DEMONSTRATE HIGH SUCCESS RATES; USE STATE-OF-THE-ART FACILITIES; AND RECEIVE NATIONAL RECOGNITION.

PHILANTHROPY IS SUPPORTING MANY STRATEGIES THAT INCREASE STUDENT COMPLETION RATES AT CUYAHOGA COMMUNITY COLLEGE. THE COLLEGE'S STRATEGIC PLAN FOR 2018-2022 FOCUSES ON FIVE STRATEGIC AREAS: STUDENT EXPERIENCE; BRAND/IMAGE; COMMUNITY; WORKFORCE; AND AFFORDABILITY; BUILT ON THE FOUNDATIONAL PRINCIPLES OF ACCESS; EQUITY; AND SUCCESS. THROUGH COLLEGE-WIDE WORK, GRADUATION RATES ARE RISING ACROSS THE INSTITUTION, THERE HAS BEEN A SIGNIFICANT INCREASE IN WORKFORCE CREDENTIALS AWARDED, AND TRI-C HAS BEEN RECOGNIZED AS ONE OF THE NATION'S TOP 150 COMMUNITY COLLEGES BY THE ASPEN INSTITUTE COLLEGE EXCELLENCE PROGRAM. GENEROUS GIFTS AND GRANTS ARE BEING DEPLOYED TO NARROW THE GAP IN SUCCESS AND COMPLETION.
