HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH CELEBRATION IN COLLABORATION WITH CLEVELAND PUBLIC LIBRARY IS AN EVENT THAT CELEBRATES THE CULTURE, TRADITIONS, AND LEGACIES THROUGH ART, MUSIC, FOOD AND COMMUNITY. THIS EVENT ATTRACTS OVER 300 PEOPLE ANNUALLY.

THE DANCE AND CHOREOGRAPHY PROGRAM: THIS PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO BE TWO- FOLD-WELLNESS THROUGH DANCING AND ENRICHMENT OF CULTURAL MUSIC AND DANCE. THIS PROGRAM MEETS THREE TIMES A WEEK. PARTICIPANTS HAVE AN OUTLET FOR BEING ACTIVE, EXERCISE THROUGH DANCE WHILE LEARNING ABOUT THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF CULTURAL DANCES. BALLET, FLAMENCO AND HIP HOP TO DANCE CLASSES - LATIN DANCE STYLES WITH INFLUENCES OF HIP-HOP, MODERN DANCE, FLAMENCO, AND BALLET. "INDIVIDUAL ART CLASSES FOR YOUTH AND ADULTS INCLUDING OUR SUPERHERO IN YOU CLASS, A CREATIVE EXPRESSION PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS WHO DEVELOP THEIR OWN SUPERHERO IMAGE AND STORY REFLECTING ON THEIR PERSONAL EXPERIENCES. ADDITIONALLY, WE ALSO HAVE FAMILY ART CLASSES IN WHICH EACH FAMILY WORKS TOGETHER TO DEVELOP AN ART PIECE THAT EXEMPLIFIES THEIR HERITAGE AND PROVIDES A SPACE FOR FAMILIES TO EXPLORE AND EXPRESS THEMSELVES.

"PLEIBOL: IS A COLLABORATIVE EVENT BETWEEN JULIA DE BURGOS CULTURAL ARTS CENTER AND THE BASEBALL HERITAGE MUSEUM WITH SUPPORT FROM THE CITY OF CLEVELAND, CLEVELAND CITY COUNCIL, CLEVELAND INDIANS, CLEVELAND PUBLIC LIBRARY, CORPORATE AND OTHER BUSINESS STAKE HOLDERS. ITS PURPOSE IS TO TRACE THE TRAJECTORY OF LATINOS, AFRICAN AMERICANS, AND THE DIVERSITY IN BASEBALL FROM THE NEGRO LEAGUES TO MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL. THIS EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE OVER A THREE-DAY PERIOD AT THE HISTORIC LEAGUE PARK LOCATED IN CLEVELAND'S HOUGH NEIGHBORHOOD CONSISTING OF A PRIVATE RECEPTION WITH GUEST SPEAKERS AND AN ENTIRE DAY OF SOFTBALL GAMES OPEN TO THE COMMUNITY. "WOMEN'S WORKSHOPS: WOMEN OF ALL AGES ARE BROUGHT TOGETHER TO SHARE, MENTOR AND CELEBRATE. EACH WORKSHOP VARIES AND MAY INCLUDE A READING, POETRY, MUSIC, OR EVEN CREATING A UNIQUE PIECE OF ART. "TRADITIONAL PARRANDON NAVIDEO PROGRAM: THE CHRISTMAS SEASON IS A VERY SPECIAL TIME OF YEAR THROUGHOUT LATIN AMERICA. IT IS A CELEBRATION OF BOTH CHRISTMAS AND THREE KINGS DAY. EVERY YEAR THE CENTER OPENS ITS DOORS TO THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY TO COME CELEBRATE AND EXPERIENCE OUR CULTURAL TRADITIONS. AN EVENING FILLED WITH A WIDE ARRAY OF DELICACIES, MUSIC, ART, DANCE, AND ACTIVITIES FOR ALL AGES THAT WILL LEAVE YOUR HEART FILLED WITH THE JOY OF FAMILY UNITY AND HOLIDAY CHEER. ATTENDANCE IS OVER 500 PEOPLE.
