Organizations Filed Purposes: To maintain, preserve, and enhance the historically and architecturally significant buildings, monuments, and areas located within, and the horticulture, botanical gardens, and landscape of the Lake View Cemetery, Cleveland, Ohio.

Education and Community Events: The Foundation conducts a multitude of educational and community programs and events, too many to describe fully here. Please refer to the Lake View Cemetery website (www.lakeviewcemetery.com) for more information. In addition to the ongoing walking and trolley tours, holdiay programs, historical buildings, and concerts, the Foundation added the following programs in 2019: in honor of the cemetery's 150th anniversay, a special photography exhibit of "Moonlight in the Gates" was installed in various locations in the cemetery; the newsletter was upgraded to a 24 page magazine and 30,000 copies printed and distributed; in collaboration with the James A. Garfield National Historic Site, the Foundation developed a curriculum and presented programs for the Every Kid in a Park initiative of the National Parks Service.

Heritage Preservation & Cemetery Enhancements: Capital projects to preserve, improve and enhance the historically and architecturally significant buildings and grounds, including two buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the James A. Garfield Memorial and the Wade Memorial Chapel. Provides access to the general public to the history and beauty of Lake View Cemetery. A capital campaign to provide funding for a significant restoration the Garfield Memorial, as well as other cemetery projects, is underway.

Horticulture: Lake View Cemetery's 285 acres contain a showcase of trees and shrubbery, cultivated for scientific, ornamental and educational purposes. The Foundation supports the care and protection of older, established trees as well as continued planting of new trees and maintenance of the varied landscape design throughout property. Support for the tree canopy is part of the overall capital campaign.
