IN 2019, LEGAL AID: REMOVED EDUCATION BARRIERS FOR 100% OF CLIENTS WHO HAD BARRIERS TO EDUCATION; INCREASED CLIENTS' ASSETS BY $4.4 MILLION; DECREASED CLIENTS' DEBT BY $7.6 MILLION; AND INCREASED CLIENTS' ANNUAL INCOME BY OVER $1.1 MILLION.
LEGAL AID IMPROVES SAFETY AND HEALTH FOR PEOPLE WITH LOW INCOME. LEGAL AID STRATEGIES IN ACHIEVING THIS GOAL INCLUDE: SECURING SAFETY AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND FOR OTHER VICTIMS OF CRIME; INCREASING ACCESS TO HEALTH CARE; AND IMPROVING HEALTH AND SAFETY OF HOMES AND NEIGHBORHOODS. IN 2019, LEGAL AID: INCREASED SAFETY FOR 91% OF CLIENTS FOR WHOM SAFETY WAS AN ISSUE; AND SECURED ACCESS TO HEALTH INSURANCE FOR 92% OF CLIENTS FOR WHOM HEALTH INSURANCE WAS AN ISSUE.
LEGAL AID SECURES DECENT, AFFORDABLE HOUSING FOR PEOPLE WITH LOW INCOME. LEGAL AID'S STRATEGIES IN ACHIEVING THIS GOAL INCLUDE INCREASING AVAILABILITY AND ACCESSIBILITY OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING, IMPROVING HOUSING STABILITY, AND IMPROVING HOUSING CONDITIONS. IN 2019, LEGAL AID: PREVENTED 60% OF FORECLOSURES; AND PREVENTED 89% OF EVICTIONS.
