Our mission is to educate and connect Manufacturing companies.
The Workforce Adult program provides apprenticeship, recruitment, screening, placement and retention services for manufacturing companies. The Apprenticeship Consortium supports members in developing 21st century apprenticeship programs within their companies. It also offers peer-to-peer learning such as OSHA, Safety, Supervisory and HR round-tables to assist leaders in developing and implementing effective HR management and safety programs. Workforce Youth programs provide opportunities for students to engage and learn about manufacturing job opportunities by bringing speakers into the classroom, plant tours, job shadowing and pre-apprenticeships. Manufacturing Works is engaged with the Cleveland Foundation Encore initiative to bring experienced technicians into Cleveland area high schools to share their expertise with students and teachers as adjunct faculty. With the support of these experienced technicians, students are better prepared for skills certifications, college and careers. The program is designed to develop and secure a continuous flow of qualified technicians in a variety of skills including CADD, CNC, precision machining and welding and cutting.
Manufacturing Assistance programs work directly with manufacturing businesses to help them reduce costs, innovate, increase their effectiveness and grow their business. Competitiveness is improved through training and consulting services. Manufacturing Works manages the Cleveland Industrial Retention Initiative in coordination with the City of Cleveland's Department of Economic Development. The program provides outreach to raise industry awareness of available resources to stimulate business, neighborhood investment and to foster job creation. The program provides services that help manufacturers remain and grow within the city of Cleveland and provide employment opportunities for the residents of the city of Cleveland.
Manufacturing Works is a membership organization devoted to the advancement of manufacturing. The members are provided opportunities for networking, business education, cost reduction services, professional development, sourcing assistance and community volunteering. For thirty years, Manufacturing Works has been a collective voice for the manufacturing community in the areas of policy, research and education.
