THESE BELOW EVENTS ARE TO HELP OUR MEMBERS BETTER UNDERSTAND OUR CULTURE AND TO BUILD ON THE INTEREST OF THE ITALIAN COMMUNITY.BOCCE NIGHT - THIS IS A TRADITION EVERY YEAR IN LITTLE ITALY. BOCCE IS A SPORT PLAYED IN ITALY. OUR MEMBERS ARE TAUGHT THE TRADITION OF THE SPORT AND HAVE A TOURNAMENT AMONG OUR MEMBERS. FILM FESTIVAL NIGHT - IN SEPTEMBER, THE MEMBERS WENT AS A GROUP TO SEE AN ITALIAN MOVIE AND HAVE APPETIZERS. MEMBERS WERE ABLE TO SHARE IN THE LOVE AND APPRECIATION FOR THE ARTS. (CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O)CIAO CLEVELAND - THIS EVENT WAS A FIRST TIME EVENT- THIS WAS AN EVENT HELD FOR THE ITALIAN COMMUNITY AS A WAY TO LEARN AND SHOW APPRECIATION FOR OUR CULTURAL AND HERITAGE. WE LEARNED THE LOVE OF FOOD, WINE AND MUSIC AS WELL. WE HAD DEMONSTRATION THROUGHOUT THE DAY. COLUMBUS DAY - THIS CULTURAL EVENT HELD IN LITTLE ITALY HONORS CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS, A PROMINENT FIGURE IN ITALIAN-AMERICAN HISTORY. NOIA FOUNDATION SUPPORTS THE PARADE IN LITTLE ITALY. THIS EVENT BRINGS ITALIANS FROM ALL OVER TO CELEBRATE OUR HERITAGE THROUGH FOOD, MUSIC AND FAMILY.SOUTHERN ITALY LECTURE - FORMER NIAF PRESIDENT, JOHN VIOLA SPOKE TO OUR MEMBERS ABOUT THE CULTURAL HISTORY OF SOUTHERN ITALY, THE KINGDOM OF THE TWO SICILIES, AND THE BORBONE MONARCHY.WINE DINNER - THIS IS AN ANNUAL EVENT TYPICALLY HELD IN SEPTEMBER. THE COMMITTEE PICKS A REGION IN ITALY AND OUR MEMBERS CENTER THE FOOD AND WINE AROUND THIS. OUR MEMBERS HAVE A SOMMELIER EXPLAIN THE GRAPES AND HOW THE PAIRING MATCHES THE FOOD AND THEN THE CHEF EXPLAINS THE SELECTION OF FOOD. THIS IS DESIGNED TO EDUCATE MEMBERS ABOUT THE CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE OF WINE AND FOOD TO THE ITALIAN PEOPLE.APERITIVO NIGHT - AN APERITIVO IS A PRE-MEAL DRINK SPECIFICALLY MEANT TO WET THE APPETITE. THIS IS A TRADITION THAT MANY ITALIANS PARTICIPATE IN.ITALIAN POLITICS LECTURE - A LECTURE ON ITALIAN MYTHS AND POLITICS PRESENTED BY DR. MOLINA OF KENT STATE UNIVERSITY AT MICELI DAIRY COMPANY. WE LEARNED ABOUT THE HISTORY AND TRUTH OF ITALIAN POLITICS AND ORGANIZED CRIME.LIMONCELLO MAKING - MEMBERS WERE TAUGHT HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE LIMONCELLO BY PASQUALE OF ETNA RISTORANTE. LIMONCELLO IS A ITALIAN LIQUEUR MAINLY PRODUCED IN SOUTHERN ITALY. LADIES' MEDITERRANEAN NIGHT - OUR WOMEN MEMBERS GATHERED TO LEARN ABOUT WHAT ITALY CONSTITUTES THE MEDITERRANEAN WAY OF LIVING - TRUTH, HEALTH, WELLNESS, AND BEAUTY.

NOIA WAS PROUD TO SUPPORT THESE WONDERFUL ORGANIZATIONS IN OUR COMMUNITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR.ITALIAN CULTURAL GARDENS:ITALIAN CULTURAL GARDEN PAVEMENT DESIGN RESTORATION - REPLACEMENT OF 7 LARGE PAVEMENT DESIGN AREAS ON THE UPPER LEVEL OF THE GARDEN FIRST INSTALLED IN 1940. INSTEAD OF REPLACING THEM WITH THE ORIGINAL PLAIN RIVER STONES, WE WILL BE DOING SOMETHING MORE ARTISTIC, IN KEEPING WITH ITALY'S PATRIMONY OF IMPLEMENTING BEAUTY AND ART. THE SEVEN GIANTS OF ITALIAN CULTURAL WILL HAVE THEIR IMAGES IN THE CENTER OF EACH OF THE 6 CIRCLES AND ONE LARGE RECTANGLE. (CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O)CLEVELAND OPERA THEATER:"NOIA'S GENEROUS SUPPORT OF $10,000 FOR THE 2019/20 SEASON SUPPORTED OUR MAINSTAGE PRODUCTION OF LA BOHME WHICH BROUGHT PREMIERE PROFESSIONAL OPERA TO PLAYHOUSE SQUARE FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 2010. THIS PRODUCTION WAS CELEBRATED AS "INGENIOUS" BY THE PLAIN DEALER AND PLAYED TO CAPACITY CROWDS. GENEROUS SUPPORT FROM NOIA CONTINUES TO HELP CLEVELAND OPERA THEATER BUILD A SUSTAINABLE PROFESSIONAL OPERA COMPANY FOR NORTHEAST OHIO."HOLY ROSARY:"WE ALLOCATED THOSE FUNDS ($3,500) TO CAPITAL PROJECTS AND WE'VE DONE A LOT THIS YEAR. ONE THING WE DID WAS TO REPLACE THE WIRELESS LAVALIERES AND MICROPHONES IN THE CHURCH AS WELL AS THE MOBILE UNIT WE USE IN OUR PROCESSIONS. THE FCC MANDATED NEW FREQUENCIES FOR THESE AND THEY HAD TO BE REPLACED TO COMPLY. THE FUNDS RECEIVE FROM THE CIAO EVENT COVERED THE COST OF THESE REQUIRED UPGRADES."HOLY REDEEMER PARISH:"HOLY REDEEMER PARISH GREATLY APPRECIATED THE GIFT FROM THE CIAO BENEFIT. IT HAS BEEN USED TO ASSIST US IN TRANSFORMING OUR CONVENT INTO THE RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CENTER FOR PSR, RCIA AND OTHER INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAMS. THROUGH THE WORK OF TEACHERS AND STAFF THE VISION OF IMPROVEMENTS OF IMPROVEMENTS THAT SERVE THE STUDENTS AND FAMILIES IS BEING REALIZED. EACH YEAR UNDERPRIVILEGED YOUTH AND PEOPLE OF ALL BACKGROUNDS GET A SUPERIOR CATHOLIC EDUCATION BECAUSE OF OUR ALUMNI AND DONORS SUCH AS NOIA."ST ROCCO PARISH:"THE FUNDING WE RECEIVED CAME IN PERFECT TIME FOR THE UNEXPECTED REPAIRS NEEDED IN THE CHURCH WITH THE HEAT AIR HANDLER (BLOWER) AND THE MAIN ELECTRICAL PANEL WHICH NEEDED IMMEDIATE ATTENTION. THIS UNEXPECTED AND YET URGENT REPAIR WAS POSSIBLE IN THE CHURCH WITH THE "EXTRA" GIFT FROM THE CIAO EVENT."
