CUSTOMIZED EMPLOYER CAREER PATHWAYS - STEP UP TO UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL: CUSTOMIZED RECRUITMENT, SOFT SKILLS/JOB READINESS WORKSHOP AND POST-EMPLOYMENT COACHING FOR UNIVERSITY CIRCLE RESIDENTS. - YOUNG ADULT WORKFORCE HUB AT OHIO MEANS JOBS, CO-MANAGED BY TOWARDS EMPLOYMENT AND YOUTH OPPORTUNITIES UNLIMITED. TE ALSO PROVIDES EMPLOYMENT SERVICES IN THESE PARTNER LOCATIONS - GENERATION WORK: SUPPORTING A MORE ALIGNED WORKFORCE SYSTEM FOR YOUNG ADULTS. - BLOOM BAKERY: BLOOM IS A SOCIAL ENTERPRISE WHOLLY OWNED BY TOWARDS EMPLOYMENT. BLOOM BAKERY HAD RETAIL AND CATERING OPERATIONS WHICH PROVIDED INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE FACED BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT TRAINING FOR A GOOD JOB AND A PATH TO SELF-SUFFICIENCY. BLOOM BAKERY WAS CEASED OPERATIONS IN NOVEMBER 2019. THIS DECISIONS ALLOWS TOWARDS EMPLOYMENT TO FOCUS ON OTHER STRATEGIC INITIATIVES.EVERY YEAR OVER 3,000 PEOPLE ENGAGE WITH TOWARD EMPLOYMENT TO BUILD OR ADVANCE THEIR CAREER PATHWAY. IN 2019 TOWARDS EMPLOYMENT PLACED 422 PEOPLE IN FULL-TIME EMPLOYMENT, AND 128 PEOPLE ADVANCED ON THE JOB. WE PARTNERED WITH OVER 300 EMPLOYERS TO PROVIDE A SOURCE OF RELIABLE TALENT. OUR PROGRAMMING INCLUDES JOB READINESS, JOB PLACEMENT, AND JOB RETENTION AND CAREER ADVANCEMENT WITH ON-GOING CAREER COACHING AND SUPPORTIVE SERVICES. RETENTION AND ADVANCEMENT SERVICES INCLUDE CAREER EXPLORATION AND COACHING, PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLANNING, PERSONAL WELLNESS AND WORKPLACE SUCCESS TRAINING. SUPPORTIVE SERVICES PROVIDE CONNECTIONS TO BASIC NEEDS FOR PARTICIPANTS WHO ENCOUNTER BARRIERS DURING THEIR JOB SEARCH/EMPLOYMENT, AND FOR NEWLY EMPLOYED LOW-INCOME INDIVIDUALS WHO NEED TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE TO TRANSITION TO EMPLOYMENT. THESE INCLUDE LEGAL SERVICES TO REMOVE BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT OR JOB RETENTION SUCH AS CREDIT/DEBT ISSUES, BANKRUPTCY, FORECLOSURE, OR CRIMINAL ISSUES. IN ADDITION, WE LEVERAGE LOCAL AND NATIONAL FUNDING TO SUPPORT COLLABORATIVE INITIATIVES TO IMPROVE WORKFORCE SERVICES FOR KEY STAKEHOLDERS, INCLUDING DISCONNECTED YOUNG ADULTS, INDIVIDUALS WITH CRIMINAL HISTORIES, AND LOW-INCOME JOBSEEKERS.
