To support and counsel victims of domestic violence in Ohio, especially of the South Asian Community
ASHA - Ray of Hope exists to support and counsel individuals and families affected by domestic violence specifically in the South Asian community. Through advocacy, collaboration, and awareness activities, ASHA helps educate the greater community and connects individuals and families with the resources needed to achieve self-reliance. ASHA's volunteers and staff are culturally competent counselors who assist clients with a variety of needs including: residency and immigration issues pertaining to child custody, spousal and child support, mental health counseling, transportation, interpretive services, connection to resources such as housing, medical care, and providing emergency funds. In addition to assisting clients, ASHA conducts several community outreach events, educational workshops, and professional trainings each year to increase awareness, with a focus on the unique issues within the South Asian, and new immigrant communities.The counselors donate their time in counselling services to the victims.
