Organizations Filed Purposes: PLANNING, DEVELOPMENT, AND MANAGEMENT OF PROJECTS FOR THE REVITALIZATION OF DOWNTOWN COLUMBUS. PLEASE SEE PART I, LINE 1 AND SCHEDULE O FOR CONTINUATION OF THE SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITIES STATEMENT.

CDDC CONTINUES WITH THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE STRATEGIC BUSINESS PLAN DEVELOPED WITH COMMUNITY INPUT AND PROMULGATED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL. THESE EFFORTS INCLUDE THE RENOVATION OF A FORMER DOWNTOWN DEPARTMENT STORE INTO PREMIER OFFICE AND RETAIL SPACE, DEVELOPMENT OF DOWNTOWN PARKS THROUGH THE OVERSIGHT OF THE SCIOTO MILE PARK AND THE SCIOTO GREENWAYS PROJECT, THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW NATIONAL VETERANS MEMORIAL AND MUSEUM AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE DOWNTOWN SCIOTO PENINSULA. NATIONAL VETERANS MEMORIAL AND MUSEUM (NVMM) THE PROJECT'S DESIGN WAS COMPLETED AND CONSTRUCTION COMMENCED IN LATE 2015. CONSTRUCTION OF THE MUSEUM WAS COMPLETED IN MID-2018. A GRAND OPENING FEATURING LOCAL, STATE AND NATIONAL LEADERS WAS HELD ON OCTOBER 27, 2018.IN 2019 THE PROGRAMMING AND ACTIVITIES OF THE NVMM INCLUDED EVENTS TO CELEBRATE VIETNAM VETERANS DAY, MEMORIAL DAY, 75TH ANNIVERSARY OF D-DAY, VETERANS DAY, MONTHLY RALLY POINT GATHERINGS FOR VETERANS, COMMUNITY CELEBRATION DAY, MILITARY ANNIVERSARIES AND A MEMORIAL FUNDRAISING 5K RUN. ADDITIONALLY, THE MUSEUM HOSTED TEMPORARY EXHIBITS FOR THE GI BILL AND AN HONORARY EXHIBIT OF THE LIFE AND SERVICE OF BOB HOPE. THE MUSEUM PROVIDED NUMEROUS GROUP TOURS FOR VETERAN GROUPS, SCHOOL AGED STUDENTS, SCOUT TROOPS AND PACKS AND SENIOR CITIZEN GROUPS. THE MUSEUM PRODUCED MEDIA RELEASES AND CONDUCTED ON AIR INTERVIEWS TO PROMOTE AWARENESS OF THE MUSEUM AND ITS MISSION AS WELL AS TO EDUCATE THE GENERAL PUBLIC ABOUT THE VETERAN EXPERIENCE. THE MUSEUM COLLABORATED WITH AN EXTERNAL PARTNER TO COLLECT VETERAN STORIES FOR PRESERVATION AND ARCHIVING PURPOSES. SCIOTO PENINSULA IN 2016, CDDC ENTERED INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE CENTER OF SCIENCE AND INDUSTRY (COSI) AND THE AMERICAN MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY (AMNH) TO BRING AMNH EXHIBITS TO COSI. CDDC MANAGED CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW EXHIBIT SPACE, WHICH OPENED IN NOVEMBER 2017. CDDC'S FUNDING COMMITMENT FOR THE AMNH EXHIBITS CONTINUED INTO 2019.PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE REMAINING COMPONENTS OF THE SCIOTO PENINSULA MASTER PLAN WILL CONTINUE INTO 2020 AND BEYOND.
