Organizations Filed Purposes:
The mission of The Columbus Urban League is to empower African Americans and disenfranchised groups through economic, educational and social progress
Workforce Development provided job placement and job readiness services to dislocated, unemployed, Summer Youth and adjudicated citizens. The program served 1,725 clients.
Head Start program provides pre-kindergarten education services to children ages 3-5 years old and their parents. Providing family services to the family of each child served, to include employment, housing, and health services. The Head Start program serves 101 children and 105 parents. Simple supper program served 182 children and parents; teaching health food preparation and meal planning.
Prevention Services served 1,547 clients. The prevention program provides prevention services to youth including gang violence prevention and drug awareness. Additionally, this program provides counseling services to clients needing assistance in preparing to become employed and fathers reconnecting with their children, teaching parenting skills and providing COVID relief services.
