The Junior League of Columbus, Inc. promotes volunteerism, develops the potential of women, and improves communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
KELTON HOUSE The Junior League of Columbus operates the Kelton House Museum Garden the Museum and Underground Railroad Learning Station located in the Town Street Historic District of Columbus, Ohio. The Museum provides the public with a unique view of urban life and the decorative arts during the second half of the 19th century, largely through the collection of the Kelton Family. During the Junior Leagues fiscal year ended June 30, 2019, 2,660 people toured the Museum. The Underground Railroad Learning Station is an educational project of the Junior League. During fiscal 2019, 2,863 children toured the Learning Station during school group tours along with 485 accompanying adults. The Kelton House also offered 34 educational programs during the year ended June 30, 2019, attended by 1,095 participants.
COMMUNITY PROJECTS The Junior Leagues largest Community Project is the Bargain Box which has raised over 1.8 million to support other community projects of the Junior League since this projects inception in 1949. Other community projects include the ABC Backpack Project and various Quick Impact Grants.
MEMBERSHIP ACTIVITIES Membership activities include a variety of educational and social activities, including leadership training and volunteering. All of these activities support the Junior Leagues mission.
