CCHS is a comprehensive family and child development program committed to providing quality services that support and nurture the families we serve. Our work connects through our community as we prepare our families and children for a successful future. In doing so, we benefit not only our families, but our broader community as well.
The federal head start program is funded by the US Department of Health and Human Services. This program served 174 children and their families during fiscal year 2018 and incorporates a comprehensive interdisciplinary approach to child development and family services for children ages 3 to 5 years of age. This program also offers services to children with disabilities.
The early head start program is a federally funded, community based program for low-income families with infants, toddlers, and pregnant women. Its mission is to promote healthy prenatal outcomes for pregnant women, to enhance the development of very young children, and to promote healthy familiy functioning. This program served 92 children and their families during the fiscal year.
The Early Childhood Education program is a state funded grant awarded to preschool programs who are required to provide comprehensive services that support a child's growth and learning using developmentally appropriate practices. This program served 39 four year old children and their families during the fiscal year.
