Organizations Filed Purposes:
The Preble County Historical Society is organized exlusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes, including to promote a knowledge and history of Preble County and the State of Ohio
The Society provides the opportunity for individuals of all ages and abilities to experience, imagine, learn, create, and welcome the historic flavor of the rich cultural heritage of Preble County, Ohio. The Society maintains approximately 260 acres, 15 buildings, and an outdoor amphitheater as well as historical collections and exhibits. Educational programs led by local area schools consisting of crafts, agricultural practices, nature studies, and arts where students participate in candle dipping, educational hikes, and farm activities. Bruce Pioneer Day and various school field trips brings the Historical Society to several hundred students each year. The Society hosts several public events such as the Old Fashioned Independence Day Celebration, which brings nearly 1,000 people to the Society grounds, the Herb Faire and Herb Tea, Antique Study Group, and various other programs.
