Organizations Filed Purposes:
The ALPCA is dedicated to the promotion of license plate collecting and research, the exchange of information and plates among members and all fraternal benefits of sharing a common hobby interest with others throughout the world
Six times per year the organization publishes a full color magazine that it mails to its 2,970 members. The magazine is the primary means used by the organization to accomplish its mission, by facilitating communication about the hobby and providing information to all members about past and future activities of the organization. The publication contains coverage of sanctioned regional events, stories about members and their collecting endeavors, membership information (such as the list of new members), as well as feature stories and photographs of license plates and related materials. Each issue includes an advertising section in which only individual members may offer to trade, buy, and sell license plates and related materials, which is the only direct source of publication-related revenue. With the many ways that members communicate, the club publication remains the single method that the organization and its leaders use to disseminate information in a uniform, consistent manner.
