YWCA HAMILTON IS DEDICATED TO ELIMINATING RACISM, EMPOWERING WOMEN, AND PROMOTING PEACE, JUSTICE, FREEDOM, AND DIGNITY FOR ALL. THE PRIMARY PROGRAMS INCLUDE RACIAL JUSTICE ADVOCACY, A PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING FOR CHRONICALLY HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES LIKE SERIOUS PERSISTENT MENTAL ILLNESS AND ADDICTIONS, A DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SHELTER AND DV CRISIS HOTLINE WHICH SERVES SURVIVORS OF DV ABUSE AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING, AND A YOUTH EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM FOR GIRLS AND BOYS. ALL PROGRAMS ARE ROOTED IN THE EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICES OF TRAUMA INFORMED CARE, HOUSING FIRST, AND HARM REDUCTION.

DOVE HOUSE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SHELTER AND CRISIS HOTLINE PROGRAM: WE PROVIDE A PATH TO PEACE AND A LIFE WITHOUT THE THREAT OF VIOLENCE OR DEATH. THE YWCA HAMILTON'S DOVE HOUSE IS A PLACE OF REFUGE. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AFFECTS PEOPLE OF ALL AGES AND BACKGROUNDS. IT CAN BE PHYSICAL, SEXUAL, EMOTIONAL, ECONOMIC, OR PSYCHOLOGICAL IN NATURE. IT INCLUDES ANY BEHAVIORS THAT FRIGHTEN, INTIMIDATE, TERRORIZE, MANIPULATE, HURT, HUMILIATE, BLAME, INJURE, OR WOUND SOMEONE. THE YWCA HAMILTON SERVES ALL OF BUTLER COUNTY AND OPERATES THE ONLY DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SHELTER IN THE COUNTY. THE CRISIS HOTLINE (1.800.618.6523) IS STAFFED 24/7/365. DOVE HOUSE IS AN 8 ROOM, 17- PERSON FACILITY PROVIDING SERVICES FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE VICTIMS AND THEIR DEPENDENT CHILDREN. THE PROGRAM WAS ONE OF THE FIRST TO ACCEPT PETS IN THE STATE OF OHIO, RECOGNIZING THE RELUCTANCE OF SURVIVORS TO LEAVE THEIR PETS BEHIND. DOVE HOUSE OPENED IN 1979. PROFESSIONAL STAFF INCORPORATE KNOWLEDGE OF TRAUMA INFORMED CARE, AND HOUSING FIRST IN ALL ASPECTS OF SERVICE DELIVERY TO ENHANCE HEALING AND FACILITATE RECOVERY AND SAFE HOUSING.

GOODMAN PLACE PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING PROGRAM: WE HELP TO ELIMINATE HOMELESSNESS IN A VULNERABLE POPULATION. YWCA HAMILTON'S GOODMAN PLACE PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING PROGRAM IS FOR CHRONICALLY HOMELESS, ACUTELY HOMELESS, OR ARE AT HIGH RISK OF HOMELESSNESS INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE DISABILITIES LIKE SERIOUS PERSISTENT MENTAL ILLNESS AND ADDICTION. GOODMAN PLACE IS A PROGRAM FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE UNDER TREATMENT FOR A MENTAL HEALTH AND OR ADDICTION. SERVICES INCLUDE SUPPORTIVE, COMMUNITY HOUSING, GROUPS, SELF-SUFFICIENCY SKILLS EDUCATION, AND REFERRALS TO OTHER NEEDED RESOURCES TO HELP MAINTAIN HOUSING. THE FACILITY IS IN OUR HISTORIC BUILDING AND CONTAINS 31 EFFICIENCY APARTMENTS. THE PROGRAM OPERATES EVIDENCED BASED PRACTICES OF TRAUMA INFORMED CARE, HOUSING FIRST, AND HARM REDUCTION.

FIERCE GIRLS PROGRAM: WE KNOW THAT TODAY'S STRONG GIRLS ARE TOMORROW'S WOMEN OF INFLUENCE. ONE OF OUR MOST SACRED OBLIGATIONS IS THE PASSAGE OF STRENGTH AND COURAGE TO THE NEXT GENERATION. YWCA HAMILTON IS COMMITTED TO EMPOWERING GIRLS THROUGH INFORMAL EDUCATION THAT INSPIRES GIRLS TO BE FIERCE. FEARLESS. INDEPENDENT. EDUCATED. RESILIENT. CONFIDENT. ENGAGED. FIERCE GIRLS PROVIDES IN-SCHOOL PROGRAMMING TO GIRLS IN GRADES 3-6 DESIGNED TO MEET GIRLS WHERE THEY ARE AND DEVELOP A HEALTHY FOUNDATION WITH FEMALE IDENTITY, FRIENDSHIPS, AND BODY IMAGE. THE CURRICULUM IS FROM THE ONE CIRCLE FOUNDATION. ALL ACTIVITIES ARE ROOTED IN TRAUMA INFORMED PRACTICES WHICH ACKNOWLEDGE THE NEUROBIOLOGY OF BRAIN DEVELOPMENT, EPIGENETICS, ADVERSE CHILDHOOD EXPERIENCES AND COMPLEX TOXIC STRESS, AS WELL AS RESILIENCY SKILL BUILDING.
